What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Just watched "Lights Out".

Great movie. Best scary movie I've seen since "The Ring".

I loved The Ring... it remains one of my favourite scary/horror of all time, very underrated.

I actually love it even more than the original Japanese version.

Underrated? It was the biggest horror movie when it came out and studios copied the **** out of it for years to come.

Huh, I hated it.

I did love the ring though. Fantastic movie

Harry Potter - The prisoner of Uzbekistan....or whatever it's called. I'm officially not watching any of the ones that came after that. I'm kind of that way with all series though. Like I thought the first Potter movie was great, introducing you to the world of Hogwarts and whatnot. Second one was less interesting, but still good enough to want to make me eventually watch the 3rd, which I got around to 13 years after its release. Uzbekistan is a brick wall though. I'm bowing out. Not even another 13 years could mend this wound.

Haha...

Watched the latest Blair witch. Pretty scary but also too identical to the first one

Just saw Rogue One.

Wow. Where do I start. Let's start with: this could turn out to be one of my most favourite Star Wars films.

No it doesn't have any Jedi, nor the customary Jedi fight scene. But it had a lot of 'heart'. The story is more focussed. It doesn't flap about. There is a true beginning, a middle, and an end. All well contained in this 1 film unlike the other Star Wars films.

What I love most about this are the characters. I love all the ethnicities and what each bring to the 'Rogue One' team, all so colourful, all so memorable. All working harmoniously together as 1 with this unspoken 'bond'. My most favourite characters in this hands down has to be K-2. Oh man, he had the wit of C3PO, the technical knowhow of R2D2, but with the dry humor of Siro? Haha.. I just couldn't stop laughing, easily one of the funniest Star Wars film as well for me.

The ending is certainly bittersweet (you'll see why), which means this one will stay with me for a while.

No, it's not 100% your typical Star Wars movie, but it didn't have to be, it had a heart that beats to its own tune, and what a wonderful tune it was.

I want to watch it for one reason: Donnie Yen.

He was very good in this. A bit predictable in hindsight but they managed it pretty well. I went in not expecting much so I liked it, I'd be interested to hear what you think of his performance since you seem to have seen his work prior.

I am a Donnie Yen fan, even before the Ip Man movies on Netflix. Which, by the way, all 3 of his Ip Man movies are on Netflix, in Chinese with subs mostly. I actually started following him on the martial arts competition circuit. The dude is fully legit, mixed street fighter-esque with real-world fighting experience. Awesome to watch his bouts. Even as he is getting older I bet he would absolutely kill in MMA.
