What's the Status on Burks?

They have. They say his leg is healed, but they don't think his body is up to strength enough to play without being susceptible to another injury.

How long will that take ... we still have three more weeks to go. Would he be ready for the playoffs? Maybe they're still waiting to see before they make a final evaluation?

Which part of the body isn't up to strength? How close is that part from being up to strength? How are they determining this stuff? When do they think the rest of his body will be strong enough?

All this vague BS is annoying

Word is they're working on strengthening the brain area to know when to make risky athletic moves and when not to. Yeah, that's probably it. When they're done with him his game will be very similar to John Amaechi's.

It really shouldn't take more than a couple weeks for the rest of his body to strengthen. Something really feels odd about Burks taking so long to come back from this injury.

Sure does, and though it would seem out of character, is it possible he wants to be traded?
 
Well, if he's going to return, it seems now's the time with this 3-game home stand.

Found this quote reported on Twitter by David Locke on Hoops Hype: "Quin Snyder says Alec Burks has been going through some script sessions and controlled practice. Improving."

Does anyone know what "script sessions" are?

Yeah, it does sound like they are waiting to see if we make the playoffs. I think perhaps with 3-4-5 games left and it's looking good, then he will be given minutes. Just my guess. What else could it be? Just don't want to risk another injury otherwise.

I don't think he comes back for tonight because it's kind of a big game, but if we don't bring Alec back for Friday's game and he's healthy I think its stupid. If we go into the offseason without him coming back he isn't a trade asset. If we wait any longer than Friday's game I'm not sure he finds a rhythm before the playoffs.

I get it player safety and such but really... gordon is playing hurt... Gobert mentioned he's got some stuff other than the knee. I'm sure Alec wants back in... let's just give him the 10-15 minutes Chris Johnson is getting and work him into game shape. This is becoming analysis-paralysis.

Fairly confident 'script sessions' is another way to say they've got him simulating in-game situations..
 
Enough already - re-assign this team doctor to the Utah elementary school system so he can put band aids on scrapped knees and send kids with sniffles home for the week.

Jazz need one of those 1970's era NFL team doctors - throw some dirt on it and GTF out there!!!!

They are playing sore. Alec is coming off a surgically repaired ankle.

Plantar fasciitis isn't a soreness... It's an injury that gets worse with playing. The ankle is good it's his body they are trying to get up to full speed... Point was no one is 100% right now... Get him on the effing court.
