When did Burks start sucking?

I swear he was better in his rookie year. Or he has just sucked all along. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe he fooled me, he fooled you, he fooled Zulu too. He fooled all of us on this school bus.

His best game as a Jazz player was the opening game of this season.

That's how below-average to average players are in professional sports. Inconsistent.

Burks is the biggest disappointment this year. He regressed so much. He could very well be on drugs right now.

It's all about roles. Burks hasn't regressed, it's just that his skill-set doesn't translate to the role everyone assumed he could play. He's a guy who needs the ball in his hands to be effective. This works as a key part of a team if you're elite at what you do (i.e. Kobe), but less effective if you're an above-average guy who can put up numbers. In this case, you're either a bench guy who brings energy and offense or you're in the starting line-up blocking the flow of offense.

Doesn't starting at point guard mean he has the ball in his hand?

Burks' game has peaked until he can hit a jump shot. What bothers me most is how he steps in to take a more difficult long two rather than a set three.

Didnt Burks use to like drive to the basket and get a foul call and make lay ups and ****. What the **** is going on?

I don't know. I just can't tell if these player would do better on other teams or not.
Burks just makes so many stupid decisions and then when he doesn't, he's thinking too much and not effecting the game at all.

If you can't shoot, the defense will just back off of you like they do on Lucas. If Alec can't develop a jumper, he's going to have problems. Because if he's not scoring he's not good for much. Ok, maybe some D.

Problem is they were sagging off him, and even then if he were to beat Thompson, Bogut is looming.

I don't think Burks is a good defender even though it may seem so after watching Lucas and Tinsley.

Best move for the Jazz tank platoon may have been cutting Tinsley and letting Alec drive. I really don't care if Alec progresses or not. At this point, I doubt Lindsey considers him part of the future. Alec will get thrown in with a 2nd rounder next summer when the Jazz take on the contract of a good veteran wing to backup Hayward and Parker.

It seems Burks hasn't really worked to improve his skills at all since entering the league. No surprise he's not any better.

Burks has all the talent in the world. He and Kanter need coaching so badly.

If I were coach I would make both Kanter and Gobert wear sneakers with lead weights in them. If they could learn to set their feet for picks and defending and wait for the actual shot in the post they both would be twice as effective.

ps alot of beer hope that made sense

Burks is a lot better defender then he gets credit for, I saw a stat saying he only allowed the player he was guarding .68 PPP the other day. Really I think it comes done to being in the wrong role, and not having a coach that knows his players strengths. Corbin has no discipline to those guys.
