Which Holidays Are Good And Which Are Bad?

He sure is the figurehead for the entire subjugation of all Native Americans. I'd have difficulty celebrating a holiday for the guy that's kind of responsible for killing my ancestors.

Also not sure why we Americans have it as a holiday since he never set foot on any part of soil that is now or ever was the U.S.

He might be a figure head but blaming it all on him is rather foolish.

But I don't care if we call is Columbus Day. How about "Americas Day" and celebrate the overall history of the Americas?

I remember as a kid getting both Washington's birthday and Lincoln's birthday off. Then California had to go **** that up, jerks.

Ha ha, me too!!!

Actually, in Illinois it is an official state holiday (in addition to President's Day) and some schools may still have the day off.

Also in Illinios, Casimir Pulaski Day (the first Monday in March) is an official state holiday, and many schools in the Chicago area have the day off. So that's a lot of holidays in a short stretch of time!
