What's new

Who was the first autograph of the Jazz that you Got?

Jazz bear signed my basketball when he and a few of the dancers came down to St George after the 97 finals. Then Antoine Carr the next summer when he had his camp down here in St George.

Tom Chambers did a thing at my elementary school in South Ogden. I got his autograph, but what I remember most was him throwing down a whole pizza while he was signing everyone's picture thingee.

Bryon russel and andrei kirilenko in his rookie year for me. I still have the old nikes with kirilenkos signature and on one side it says Ac-47. I don't know why he wrote AC instead of AK

Mine was Thurl Bailey at the Salt Palace on a Jazz baby bib that was a giveaway at the door. I miss the Salt Palace. You could get right up to the locker room exit and wait for the players to come out. Everyone signed back then, except for Dell Curry. He was a horses ***. Pushing little kids out of the way while screaming NO AUTOGRAPHS.

Did anyone get turned down for an autograph? I know when I was a kid I was turned down by Luther Wright at the Rocky Mountain Review...

I can't even remember if it was a real sig or not, but in Jr. Jazz they would always send out the crappiest player to meet the little kids and give everyone a photo of the guy with his sig on it. I believe it was none other than the man, the myth, the legend; Stephen Howard himself that graced us with his presence at the one in my local community.

Ours was Tyrone Corbin (back before he was 'Ty'). That's when I learned that those mass-produced photos had fake autographs.

I remember some crappy players being at the Jr. Jazz things, but one year it was Jeff Hornacek. As for autographs, I remember meeting Karl Malone when he was at the opening of a sports apparel store. I think it might of been his own store, because it doesn't seem like it was a Fanzz (or Pro Image like it used to be called). Anyway, he signed a picture of himself next to one of his big rigs. I'm pretty sure I still have that somewhere.

When I was a young Karl Malone called me down to go get a Jazz ball from him during a timeout when the Jazz were demolishing a team. I had his jersey and was going nuts so he had to love that. But anyway I was kinda shy and he gave me the ball and signed it and all this Jazz. He asked if I wanted a picture and of course I said no cause I was so little and he was so big. I choked.....I also got a pic with Stockton and got his autograph. Couple years later, got an auto from CJ thinking he was going to be sooo goood and was pumped about it... but he's failed me

I went to a Karl Malone signing at Zion's Bank in Delta UT in 1992. He asked if he could sign the jersey I was wearing even though it was a Stockton one. So I have a John Stockton jersey signed by Karl Malone. That was my first.
Since then I have a ball with Price, Gaines, Mattews, Miles, Thurl Bailey and the Bear.

My first was a Karl Malone autograph. He was at a signing at Zoins Bank in Delta in 1992. He would only sign something bought from his truck so I bought a cheap poster. He signed it and asked if he could sign my jersey. So I said yes, the funny part is it is a John Stockton jersey.
Now I have a all with Price, Gaines, Mathews, Miles, and Thurl Baily.
