I'm struggling to understand the reasoning behind the idea that replacing Biden with Kamala or Pete would lose because of racism, sexism or homophobia. This is a genuine question to anyone who has put this idea forward. What exactly is the demographic that's going to vote for Biden but in turn won't vote for Kamala or Pete because of racism, sexism or homophobia? The general premise is that the GOP is the bastion of homophobia, racism and sexism, and that a Trump ticket is a homing beacon for such. This premise requires that there's a sizable enough proportion of the population that's racist, sexist or homophobic enough to vote Biden but not Kamala or Pete, but then is not sexist, racist or homophobic enough to support Trump over Biden.

Who is this demographic?
Is the gop more racist, sexist, and homophobic? Sure. Does that mean that the Democrats are exempt from racism, sexism, and homophobia? Not even close.

I struggle with the idea that someone is racist, sexist or homophobic enough to not vote for Pete or Kamala but they were otherwise going to vote for Biden.

Well that's weird.
Let's say I'm racist against poc. Biden isn't a POC so I can vote for him. Let's say I'm sexist against women. Biden isn't a woman so I can vote for him.
Let's say I'm homophobic. Biden isn't gay so I can vote for him.
Pretty easy to explain.
What dont you understand about that?

I think the Democratic party being afraid of their electorate not accepting a gay man as a candidate is a self-report of how far out-of-touch they are. And the only real problem with Kamala is her negative levels of charisma.

The reason I now think Pete is the best option is because after the assassination attempt potential Trump voters who might have been apathetic before are now engaged. The assassination attempt means that all these newly activated voters are going to lean very heavily in favor of Trump, so you got to get other groups invested in this election. The young urban hip crowd isn't in love with Biden and probably think he isn't going to do anything they care about. Putting Pete in the race pulls a lot of currently disengaged voters into the mix. He is an amazing speaker and exudes positivity. He is the perfect counter to old leather ear.

Her charisma has nothing to do why she isnt my preference. Its more her record as a very harsh DA in Cali. But I would strongly prefer her to Trump or Biden, which isnt saying much.

Oh yes, I agree wholeheartedly. But, I don't think you or me reflect the general electorate.

Pete or Big Gretch for now, until a genuine progressive is a real possibility.

Blacks will vote for Biden (who was on Obsma’s ticket) far more than they will a gay guy…from Indiana no less.

Yep. That's a lot like saying I would prefer an inflamed hemorrhoid to bleeding anal fissures or a full fisting from Andre the Giant.

I agree, It's gotta be one of these two. At least of the people I could recognize in a photo. Newsom is a lightning rod and Kamala just sucks.

I guess these guys could be possibilities too:

"The memo singled out four Democrats who bested Biden’s results by roughly 5 points overall across the battleground states: Sen. Mark Kelly (Ariz.), Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer."
