Real simple... One of Joel Bolomboy, Royce O' Neale or Raul Neto are getting cut.

2 games ago I was sure it was Bolomboy. I don't think there is any way it is Neto. Royce also looks good. I think all guys are partially guaranteed at this point so not sure how much the money plays in.

Who ya got?

Edit... Neto is unguaranteed, but I don't think it really factors in.

The Jazz will trade Royce for assets ... a second round pick, perhaps? He looks good enough to make a roster in the NBA.

Don't think he's trade eligible. They signed him in the offseason. Think they have to wait.

I talked with an upper level jazz dude at summer league and he told me Bolomboy would absolutely be on the roster this year. I didn't ask he just volunteered it because I commented on how he didn't look great in SL.

This is a tough one.

Is royce a wing? If so then he should go. We are loaded at wing.

You have to cut Royce. He's a wing player and we have 8 wings. You don't make Rudy mad so you keep Neto (Neto isn't bad either).... and I guess you could do Bolomboy but he has a cool last name...

O’neal. Bolomboy should stay and develop. He can shoot, jump, rebound and he is local.) what we would do if favors leave?

Neto is also a good community dude and we're injury prone at the 1. I'm sure he's not even being considered at all to being cut

I'd cut Joel, but what I think will happen is O'Neale will be cut. I would think Neto is pretty safe.

He's a strong wing though so I think he could slide down and play small ball 4 and switch on the perimeter. His contract is cheap and long so if he's a rotation player he's a steal. He's more ready to contribute than Bolomboy.

I wonder if Griffin will end up being a better NBA player than Joel. He'd be an option if we moved Favs too.

15 is a tough choice this year.

Maybe this isn't possible, but I was just thinking the guaranteed $ might be a way to pay O'Neale more money than the minimum to play for the Stars. We were all pretty shocked that a) the Jazz already had 15 guys, and b) that O'Neale got 3 years. Of course it's a risk because any team could sign him. But could the Jazz release him, pay him his guaranteed money and then sign him to a GLeague deal?

If that happens, Lindsey just gamed the system (and the NBA probably closes that loophole).

How is that gaming the system? Giving him a million dollars so he can sign to a G-League team where then anyone can sign him to a 10-day contract or to a guaranteed deal?

I voted O'Neale but the way his shot looked last night I actually hope they keep him. It feels like we're going to need someone who can come in and hit shots this year. But I can't see them cutting Neto and suddenly Bolomboy looks like a keeper. Glad I don't have to make the decision, I guess.

Gaming the system only if they have a handshake deal for him to get the large "signing bonus" - I.e guarantees from the 3 yrs in exchange for agreeing to sign with the Stars. Not saying that's the case, but it was weird timing and pretty unusual to give a guy like O'Neale 3 years.

It would be the player gaming a team. No one is giving a player a million dollars to sign to their G-League team where he can be signed by anyone.
