Why Hayward?

Gerden Haywad is majorly overrated on this forum. He's a Mike Dunleavy at best, look at what Mike D did when he first came into the league, was actually doing better than Gordie. People talk about the Haywerd like he's Jeff Hornacek 2.0. He can't even hit wide open threes in much needed clutch moments!!

Better than Evan Turner who can barely even attempt a 3.

FYI, Princy isn't being sarcastic.

Hayward still has huge holes in his game. The only thing he does really well at this point is finding a way to the line and shooting a good percentage there. He needs to start hitting shots and creating for others better before being considered a solid player.

The blocks are fun though.

I remember right before the Jazz picked that night. I turned to my FIL and said, "As long as the Jazz don't draft Hayward, I will be happy with the pick." lol. The more KOC does this, the more he proves he knows what he is doing.

Nope. I think he is better than a wing who can't shoot, get to the FT line, or defend at all.

Okay, I'm not trying to set you up, I'm just legitimately curious .. if we could have some kind of FA draft, right now, and Evans and Hayward are both on the board, you're taking Hayward?

Who is Evans? We are talking about Evan Turner.

Yes, I would take Hayward. He has shown much more promise. Turner can rebound better, that is about it.

The draft has been one of my favorite sports events ever since I was a kid but after we picked Hayward I was so mad I turned off the tv. Probly the only time I didnt watch the entire draft in like 15 years, and it was probably the most mad I've ever been at the Jazz. Glad I was wrong.

I may be crazy, but when I hear people talk about MKG, all I remember is what everyone said about Turner..."He isn't a good shooter, but he does everything else so well...the guy is a winner and a leader...he has all the intangibles...

When will GM's/reporters/message board people learn?

Big difference between Turner and MKG though, MKG can play defense and has the athletic ability to be a force at the rim.

For MKG's sake I hope he falls to the 4th spot with the Cavs. I think he will sub-par if he gets drafted by the Bobcats or Wizards.

MKG really needs to play for a good team in need of an extra gear, leadership, a defensive 'leader', and a spark. He's not going to get that.

I for one did not know a damn thing about Hayward so I never commented on the pick. :p
