Multiple trades. I think they are ready to leave no doubt based on how they are managing availability already. We are the “plan B” in most cases is my guess so will have to wait until the deadline. Collins to Sacramento, Clarkson to Clips or Dallas, Sexton is a 50/50 shot to get moved.
Yeah the tank has been on harder than usual, so I dont really buy the "has to meet value" criteria Ainge usually places on his valued pieces.

We could use an exception… we’d be fine if that happened. I doubt his value would go from throw in to 12M per year.

Whoever has him cannot offer him more than he would have been payed, so by taking on JHS's contract you have limited yourself. Max we could pay him is $4M, he'd be a UFA and any other team could offer him more.

You can if you use cap space or an exception. I’m fairly certain.

Nope. It's this way to close a loophole.

The option, which was for the 2025/26 season, was valued at $4,064,640. The Lakers — or whichever team Hood-Schifino finishes this season with — will be limited to offering him that figure in free agency, but rival suitors could theoretically exceed that total.

My bad I thought you used to be able to use cap space so if you had an exception or cap space you might acquire him with the hope of retaining him. Grizz really kinda messed that one up with LaRavia.

It's a situation that makes you think that if it was going to happen, it already would have. It would have made much more sense for any team interested in JHS to trade for him before the season and exercise his option. The Lakers are in the tax, so I'm sure they would have given any team that privilege for free....shows what the league thinks of JHS as a prospect. Now he's just salary matching fodder.

Sexton sitting with rest 2 games within a week. I think he definitely gets moved.
I think we started to break him. Ironically when we acquired him I thought "what a great tank commander" but the guy is too competitive to slow play it. Not that he is some winning player but he loves basketball and just knows one speed. I'm really sad it didn't work for us and him cuz I just love the guy but I also would be happy if he could find a more competitive situation.

I also think they could have told him its temporary and the majority of the season they will give him run. Honestly though... if I was him I'd be hitting up my agent to try and get out (unless he knows we will extend him this summer).

Here are the most likely trades for our players IMO:

Sexton -> ORL
Anthony + Howard ->UTA

Collins -> SAC
Huerter+Lyles+seconds -> UTA

Clarkson -> DAL
Kleber + OMP -> UTA
I don't think we trade Collins for a couple second rounders, especially for 2 more years of Huerter. . .

We didn't get enough value on Bogdonovic, the Lakers-Minny deal, the trade with Detroit, etc. All of those were low to fair value. Danny does not have to win every trade, but he isn't going to give away free stuff either, which is refreshing after KOCs final years.

I bet one or both of Svi or Eubanks are moved in addition to one bigger move (clarkson, Collins, Sexton). We can save a couple teams some tax as well as give them a good rotation piece... likely only getting a second for that trouble but those cupboards are empty so why not.

GS, Philly (what are they doing at the deadline), Milwaukee... I'd try to get expiring salary where possible. Next year no one has space and there are some potential plays with space that might make sense.

We got more than Bogey was worth. Dude has been bad since and always injured.

I kinda think the jazz should try to sell Kessler at the deadline - he seems like he will lose a lot of value on his second contract, and could fetch a premium asset right now as a high level contributor on a rookie deal.

Being forced to tank again next year to keep the pick really pushes hard in this direction.

I think Collins ends up in Sacramento. I also think we trade Sexton. I for sure think at least one of those guys are traded. I would lean Sexton if I had to guess.

I don't know why so many people are eager to trade Sexton. He can create his own shot, plays hard and has a great work ethic. He would make a great sixth man for the future.
