Winter Poker League Discussion

The Winter Poker League Group has 9 members (that does not mean they are league members) and I think we'll start accepting league memberships in September.

If you are interested in the Winter Poker League at all please join that group. Initial league membership will be limited to 18-20 people.

The winter poker league is gonna be good.

Okay, so an update. please see the group "Winter Poker League" and the details I've provided there. Looking for at least 16 players so that 1st place in the league get's $1000 min. I'm pretty dead set on this setting the standard for home poker leagues. This is going to be a good league.

A change I'm considering is that for non-league players they can either, A) pay an additional $10 which will go towards league membership per game played until they have played 5 games and paid the $50 league membership, or B) Not pay the extra $10 and be ineligible for league membership.

This would mean that all of an " ineligible" players buy-in would go towards the prize pool for that game, none of it would go towards the league prize pool. In contrast, if a player opted to remain eligible by paying the extra $10 both their $10 non-member money and the $10 portion of their $40 buy-in would go to the league prize pool.

I don't want to discourage non-league member participation.

As an alternative we could also have "ineligible" players only buy-in for $30, but I don't want to discourage league membership.

I cannot (and as a league, "we" cannot) have any financial gain by providing these games. If that makes sense.

Unfortunately, due to my work schedule, I will not be able to participate in or host the Winter Poker League. I've turned all organization over to Gustavo, so if you have any questions please contact him.

Seriously? That really sucks. You're the heart and soul of this thing!

Yeah, it does stuck. I know that over five games Austin has had to take half an occurrence three times for leaving early on Saturday. I've been lucky but party of that is because I usually work out splitting my overtime with a couple other people. But they don't give us any notice and overtime is just going to go up so it just isn't going to work.

This is a major bummer. My inclination to participate is significantly diminished...
