WOJ: Korver to Jazz for Burks and 2 second rounders

With Ingles and Korver on the perimeter the jazz should play zone the rest of the season. A 3-2 zone with Rudy and Favors parked in the paint trying to stop all the wings who will get a running start.

I think you'll see Korver play along with defensive specialists like Royce, Thabo and Dante. One gives us offense and the others compensate on the defensive side. Korver at least tries on defense, and his minutes probably will be under 20 per night.

Remember, the Jazz were a pretty competent defensive team even with Boris Diaw. You can usually cover up for one defensively limited player. And the truth is, Burks didn't play hard on defense all the time either.

Korver can't handle heavy minutes. He'll get 15 mpg and hit less than 2 three pointers a game. Just as his season stats suggest. A marginal move that won't make a difference. I hope they have more in store.

I think he could pull 20-25, it's not like he's been logging 40 minute games with a ton of mileage on his legs.

This mileage thing is a myth. He's 37 years old. That's what matters. Lebron is still as amazing as ever, despite having played 3 careers worth. And in a year or two, age will catch up with him, whether he played 5 minutes in his career or 5 million.

Korver will provide some spacing and hit shots here and there with his 15-20 minutes per game. Burks provided a scoring punch now and again. It's a toss up. Makes no difference whether we made this trade or not. Except we lost a bunch of assets. Albeit minor ones.

I really hope we play him and Ingles together a lot. It would be awesome to have two good shooters on the floor at the same time for a change.

I'm blown away by these valuations of second-rounders. Jazz don't use them and if they do they don't even make the roster!

Jeff Hornacek, Paul Millsap, Mehmet Okur, Bryon Russell, Carlos Boozer, Shandon Anderson, Howard Eisley, Gordan Giricek, Raja Bell, Donyell Marshall, Mark Eaton, David Benoit, Tyrone Corbin, Mo Williams... all 2nd-rounders or below who were at least decent for us at some point; and that's just the ones that have played for the Jazz. There are tons of examples of guys who never played for us. You're not going to get an all-star out of the 2nd round, but you can definitely get solid rotation players.

Philadelphia has had a ton of late 1st and 2nd round picks in recent drafts. Bolden, Pasecniks, Kurucs, Korkmaz, etc. None of them get meaningful playing time. For every Millsap, there are 4 or 5 guys who don't really matter.

Some other benefit of the trade is that we prevented Korver from ending in LaLa land or Sixers:).

Many of these guys weren't actually Jazz picks though. And the league is different now with more talented players and shorter contracts.

Not to mention Kyle ****ing Korver.

I get it, but I'm also thinking about the actual role that Korver would be in. It's really not that taxing as compared to a LeBron.

Kyle is generally in the right places on defense. He is likely a more functional defender than AB. I think AB would try he is just a space cadet... as offenses got smarter it was harder for him.

We need some help off the dribble now, but this was a great add.

Maybe I'm not looking at this right with some of the members who don't like this trade but this is a great trade for the Jazz...

You have Ingles and Korver park in the corners with Mitchell/Rubio with the pick and roll with Gobert. They can't crash the paint or they have to at least pick their poison. With the system offense the Jazz run this should really help. Two 3 pt shooters on the floor is a game changer the way I look at it.

Korver will have a few games where he hits 5+ threes and basically wins it for us. He's exactly what you'd want in a rotation player... ability to hit big, but just him being on the court helps... you can't ignore him. Quin will also use him well.

I'm shocked at how negative the reaction is here.
