I didn't like his comments in which he said something like it's about staying in the league, getting to the second contract or something. It just sounded, I don't know, too content.

The college line is a joke. I'd hardly say it was amazing. Laettner, a decade earlier shot 55.7% on 2.8 attempts a game. Way less attempts but you get the point. 40% is not some amazing threshold. Hell, in 2000, Shane Battier shot 44.4% on 5.6 attempts and the year after, he shot 41.9% on 7.6 attempts. And that's pre-Redick.
 
I really do agree with Cy though about FT% being a strong indicator of perimeter shooting ability. So which of these wings has the best FT%?

Gary Trent Jr I think had pretty high FT%... high 80s if I'm not mistaken. Grayson Allen too...

Yeah, and Battier was a career 38% 3pt shooter...

And I just ignored what you said about Laettner because it made no sense. He had one good shooting year on minimal attempts. That's not the **** I'm talking about.

To be clear, I only think it's a strong indicator if we are talking about comparing guys as shooters to the greats.

The floor slap is a crucial part of any defense. Imagine if Rudy slapped the floor....... devastation would ensue. Probably a rule against it or something I reckon
 
Laugh at me, but his highlights makes him look like Steph Curry. Same body type, and great touch and range. I don't think he is Steph Curry, but if he has great shooting touch, and has hops, and is a bulldog defensively, then you should take him late in the 1st.

And Troy Brown looks like a brainy player. He doesn't go full burner until he has too. He looks like he intentionally holds back. Looks very average, but I think he is always thinking his game and is not instinctual. He looks like he is smart enough and talented enough to learn all the skills. You take him on the long bet.
 
I wouldn't mind them taking Grayson at 21. Probably be gone though, he might continue to move up in the workout process. His past is relatively insignificant to me; late teens people do stupid things. Great athlete, and will be a genuine rotation player with a better than average 3pt game.
 
I want to see him get knocked the **** out, so yeah, I'd rather his **** be far away from the Jazz.

Except for when he plays against the Jazz and Crowder knocks him out.
 
You know whoever plays against Grayson is going to flop. Will slide his foot near Grayson and fall as though he's been tripped.

A couple of reasons to draft Grayson
1. Should be able to contribute right away
2. If so, would have decent value at the trade deadline.

I'm still hoping Lindsey can do something significant with the $20m+ the Jazz should have in expirings, plus some combination of Bradley, this year's pick or next year's.

Zhaire Smith would be a perfect fit for the Jazz. Dude is a crazy athlete that does a lot of different things well. What I like the most about him is that he's such a great athlete AND he has a high basketball IQ. He has great instincts. He just knows when to cut, where the open spot on the floor is, where to be for a rebound... it comes to him naturally. He plays bigger than he is, he's an effective screener. He plays great defense. He just needs to work on refining his ball handling and continuing to improve his shot. The Jazz development staff could really elevate his game. I think he has a lot of room to grow as a player. If there was a way we could get him I'd be so excited.
