Would you be ok with Corbin starting a new offensive system?

I couldn't possibly comment on Ty as teacher or motivator.

Defensive philosophy? I like the changes we made. We got sloppy a lot, but he had to play a ton of different lineups with a very young team. And the rotations are a work in progress. I think we all saw what a veteran team looks like playing D, and the Spurs don't do anything tricky. They're just sharp.

Player rotations aren't Ty's issue, substitutions are. He definitely has a tendency to leave lineups out on the floor too long. That's part of being a young coach. But he's also trying to see how guys play in certain situations with certain lineups -- the laboratory -- which I'm sure Scotty Brooks did in his losing years with OKC.

The jury's out on Ty, but he was put in a horrible position against San Antonio -- undermanned against their talent, overmatched against one of the best coaches in history.
 
I don't care what he does, just make sure your players keep on improving and improve along with them yourself, Ty. I'll give you one more year to prove yourself, Ty Crobin. That's much more time than most fans are willing to give you. You're welcome.
 
What about starting Burks and Hayward at guards and running a two guard passing game?
No true PG.
That way Corbin has Hayward and Burks starting.
No urgency to get a true rookie PG.
Not sure what you do with Harris, Watson, Tinsley though.
 
Not sure if this has been brought up before, but is there a chance that we haven't seen the offense (and defense for that matter) that Ty really wants to run? Between the partial season last year and the craziness that was this past season, there wasn't much time to really put in an offense. Maybe the thinking was 'let's let Al do his thing, we'll try to get him to pass a little and maybe someone will be able to hit some open jumpers'. I know they focused on defense in the abbreviated camp and it seems like the team wasn't on the same page for the offense. I'm just thinking back to the years between Stockton and Williams when Sloan ran a modified version of his offense since he didn't have a good PG and PF to run the offense through. It worked ok for the time, but the team went back to the regular offense once Williams and Boozer got going. Could the same thing be happening now and the team is just waiting to get other players to fit the system Ty really wants to run?

That is a good point. I'm praying that it is true. I hope he makes some changes. I'm getting tired of hearing the better teams always saying, we know what they are going to do before they do.

I think Ty will be setting himself up for failure if he tries to just copy Jerry Sloan. He has to invent his own way.
 
I know we tried Burks at the point once and it was a struggle but I would like to see more of it. He could bring the ball up and then the offense runs through Hayward with a lot of PnR with him and Favors. If we could get a solid SF (maybe unlikely but Granger or Batum type) for Millsap or Jefferson that could create of ISO and hit some threes I think that could be a deadly starting combo. Combine that with trading Harris for a back up that is a solid shooter at the wing and signing a free agent PG to back up that might have upside(like Bayless, Brooks, Augustin or Dragic) this team would be looking great.

YES, I'M FINE WITH CORBIN INSTITUTING AN OFFENSIVE SYSTEM.
