Just cause he was born in Africa doesn't mean he doesn't have a birth certificate. Good grief.

No, in Cameroon they are no birth certificates available for children, so they can decide how old they are at some point. They startet some campaigns the last 4-5 years, but a child born before 2000 can not have an original birth certificate.

If you want to put an athlete into the market, why not a few years younger than he truly is? Embiid as a 19 year old is a top prospect, but Embiid as a 23 year old is something like a late first round pick.

The same with some turkish NBA Players like Ersan Ilyasova. When you look at his NBA profile he is born 1987, but in real he is born something like 1983-1984... Everyone in Turkey knows, but who cares ? (In fact he is born in Uzbekistan as Arsen Ilyasov, but at his "new" birth certificate they changed into Eskisehir. The consuls in Uzbekistan got good money to be quit about it)

- Bad Back
- Foot broken
- Age questionable

I would never take Embiid TOP 5... This guy is a trap... I would rather draft Randle or Vonleh.

Also, he got a foot injury after sitting out the final part of the college season and working out in the off-season. Imagine what happens when he actually plays a NBA schedule.....

If Embiid was healthy and truly 19 years old, I would take him and cut one of Favors or Kanter. But, if he is something like 23-24 years old, no one would want him to replace anyone of or young Bigs... Because everyone wants to draft Embiid due to his potential. Right now Kanter and Favors are both better than him and have NBA experience already.

It's a nauseating thought, Embiid there at 5.

On one hand, all signs point to him being an injury disaster. On the other hand - he may yet be the best prospect in the draft. 3 months ago, it wasn't even close. Do we really pass on him in favor of Julius Randle or Aaron Gordon?

I feel for the kid. He was sick the second half of the season.

Zulubro I went and played Laser tag last night and each laser tag vest thing had a nickname attached to it like, "Maximus, Hunter, Infinity" etc etc and one of em was named Zulu.

kool huh?

Dude you wear my vest bro!!!?!?!

Yeah, I think I've talked myself out of Embiid even at #5

I hate to say it, but I think that I have too. Which sucks because he could be a legitimate star if he can stay healthy. At this point, I'm more willing to gamble on Aaron Gordon improving his shot than Embiid staying healthy. Sucks hard that it's the navicular bone.

Yup, good way to put it bout the gambling thing. Gordon's shot can improve with work and coaching (hopefully). If Embiids body is broken, aint nothin we can do bout that.
