Would you rather have us in the playoffs or getting better draft picks?

Playoffs or draft glory?

This would likely be a fairly unpopular idea, but S&T Hood to Dallas for Dirk. Obviously I doubt Cuban does that after years of loyalty. I’d say most here wouldn’t do it, but it’d keep cap space open and I think if we are looking at 2019 for a FA splash, that having next season put us in the map and I think Dirk transforms spacing just by being on the floor.
lmfaooooo

That would be a horrendous deal for the Jazz.
It is. But it would depend on what our future plans were and if Hood was coming at a price we wanted to keep him at. If he wasn’t, I think often people would be mentally better with letting him walk than with getting something for him. I certainly wouldn’t view it as equal value.

Anyway, I don’t need to continue to give people the idea that I think Dirk is our savior.

Have you watched any Mavs games? I'm not exaggerating when I say I could score on Dirk. I've never seen a worse defender in space. He's used AF. He couldn't play next to Gobert. Your idea is straight laughable. merry xmas.

This horrendous month is vital for the tank, if that's what you're rooting for. If we trade Favors and JJ at the deadline, we may end up worse off heading into the easier part of the schedule.

I’d rather Hood walk then try this super weird trade.

Dirk is now playing the role of that guy on my rec team that we really like but he can’t play so we give like 5 minutes and he just hangs out with us.

LOL, you realize you literally just named about the 13th player on the Jazz roster* and a guy who just got waived two days ago. Yeah, that's a fair comparison. /sarcasm

*ahead of Neto on the depth chart (listed in alphabetical order): Burks, Favors, Gobert, Hood, Ingles, Jerebko, Johnson, Mitchell, O'Neale (OK, maybe tied), Rubio, Sefolosha, and Udoh. And Exum if healthy.

Yeah that’s a good point. I’m on pain meds still recovering from Surgery.

I’m just seeing a lot of talented and athletic players that have potential. I’d like to see use move on from some of this dead wood (like Burks) and upgrade. Get some players who can explode off our bench, like Eric Gordon.

Can’t be any worse than boozer. Boozer was the worst defender I’ve ever seen in basketball

Do people have to put a body on your buddy at all times? His defense would be fairly tragic, but not any more so than watching Boris defend the 4/5 in the playoffs, or watch the current iteration of Joe Johnson.

This summer I really wanted Bogut but DL came through strong with Udoh. The rebounding tandem of Lyles/Diaw made the corpse of Bogut look fairly appealing. I’m not sure what options we’ve got at the four next year but I suppose Jerebko would even be passable.

Dirk can’t move. He’s in two cement buckets up to his knees. It almost feels disrespectful to watch.
I’ve heard Rubio specializes in getting concrete on peoples’ feet, maybe he has the ability to help get them out.

Dirk is at least 10 times worse at defense than last year’s Diaw.

Actually, that’s too conservative

How many putbacks and lobs would DeAndre get over him?

Clear space and bring Lebron and PG next summer. Trade everything but Mitch and Rudy to do it.

Remove where he was drafted and his impressive off-the-bounce speed, and I am not even sure he's an NBA player and the statistics bear that out.

I'm not saying to cut him or anything like that, but I am saying I'm not sure he's even worth his QO.

Stats from when, his 1st year when he was a project and was never supposed to be NBA ready, or from his 2nd year of recovering from injury and getting yanked and benched to keep Hayward happy?

Exum is an NBA player and will likely be signed to a team-friendly, 4 year deal. I'll just pretend the not worth the QO comment never happened.

Not long ago, some fans were talking about salary dumping Alec Burks. Now that we've seen him play in December, that seems kind of silly now. I think the Exum comments will pale in comparison, once things play out.
