Would you trade Gobert for #1 Draft Pick?

Broken? Only the starters are voted in and the fans usually vote in guys who would make the team anyway. Kobe was the only byproduct of a "broken" system this year.

It's been a joke for more than 20 years. It has not recently been broken. There are routinely guys from opposite conferences far more deserving of an invite than guys who make it from the weak conference. I hold virtually no value to being in the all star game. Being on an all-nba team is the only similar honor I hold any value to. Kobe this year is not an isolated incident, just further evidence showing the joke the game is.

I don't think this is a very good draft class, so I'm gonna go with No...
Well the question is for #1 so you don't need the class to be anything special as long as you can secure a player superior to what Rudy can give. I would say no too though.

If Lakers or 76ers offer #1 overall pick (likely Ben Simmons)for Rudy Gobert, would you take it?

The question is stupid... there are only 12ish players at best in the whole league that gms wouldn't trade for the 1st pick and gobert is not one of them. Doesn't mean he isn't a fantastic player to have...black or white just leaves no room for analysis.

Heck, no. Gobert is 23-years-old and he's an elite defender at the center position. Once the Jazz start making the playoffs y'all will see how valuable Rudy truly is. He's a game-changer.

Where's the loyalty? Trade Gobert -- that is ridiculous. Yes, Rudy is having problems this year but it's way too early to give up on him. Plus Rudy provides great leadership and chemistry to the team. Players like that, like Ingles and Booker, two other examples, have a value that outweighs their contributions on the court.

Also, these are guys the fans like and are easy to root for. Would you like to trade Rudy for Carmelo, for instance, or even Kobe before he was injured. Hell no -- no one wants to root for a ********.

Ben Simmon's ceiling is Kevin Durant, and the league going toward versatile big who can switch, pass and guard on the perimeter. One dimensional bigs like Gobert who has virtually NO offensive game has rapidly depreciating value in the changing league

Mellow wants to trade him for poeltl. That's what I was responding to. I would trade him for Simmons. Most likely.

I don't think people are down on Rudy. Most fans with a brain still recognize his incredible long-term value and upside. This is just a hypothetical. And a #1 pick in a draft with a franchise-changing talent is nothing to scoff at.

Rudy isn't the problem.

That PG situation is.

Trade Burke. Why is still on this roster? Should've been traded last year

He was referring to trading gobert for jacob poertle, not been Simmons.

He actually said he would trade Gobert for Simmons like two posts before this

How did that game turn out for the Jazz? Or the season? Im not saying he's a bum, I'm just not as bullish on Gobert as I once was. His offense limitations will handicap his team every time. And I'm not sure how favors and Gobert play together and win a high percentage of games.

Increasingly it appears the Jazz are going nowhere with this rebuild. If a team calls offering a top 5 pick for Gobert or Hayward the Jazz probably ought to listen.
So you think the ute center would have us contending?

This post makes an interesting point.

I think rudy becomes much more valuable in the playoffs where defense seems to matter more and the pace generally slows down.

I would still trade him for the #1 pick doe

Simmons could possibly solve our PG problem from the PF spot. I expect wherever he winds up going they will run their offense through him similarly to Lebron (not saying he'll be Lebron good, relax). I'd probably do Ingram as well, but that'd necessitate some other changes with the roster. Thought about Bender some more and I think I'm leaning no, but I wouldn't be surprised if I wound up regretting it.
