I would have been happy with Bazz and another guy, but I love this move too. Mostly I like the aggressiveness of it without giving up any real assets.

Zbone can be down on this all he wants and he could be right but he is not right about the interview or about hoping Horny could coach him up on shooting... not sure how or why he missed the news about him being the Suns HC.
Lol. I was talking about Gobert and it was me having fun around guys on this board pulling "Karl Malone will teach him toughness, Hornacek will fix his shot" lines here, there and everywhere.
FFS, I said Burke is the best PG in the draft and will be sure top-10 back in winter when he was projected in early twenties and was spot on. But my guts tell me McCollum will be better.
Can I prove my point? No :)
Do I want to be wrong and Burke ended up being Deron caliber of player? Hell yeah.
Will I cheer for him? For sure.

All butthurt neg reppers can go **** themselves in a closet.

Darn straight sir.

And only top-3 protected. NO really reached on this one. Even if they were to draft 4-7 or so, they'd end up with a potential franchise player. That's a lot to give up for a wing.

NO will make the playoffs next year. Holliday at PG, they will add a max big (Smith, AI, Al). NO wants out of the lottery and it looks like they were successful.

Also, a non-lottery pick in a great draft still is t a good pick. I think it's a good trade for NO.

Jamaal Tinsley as his mentor ? my godness, what ist he going to teach him, missing white open threes ?

I like Burke, he is a right on pick, we needed a PG and he seems as one of the best pg in the draft. Is he gonna be Deron-calibre player? I dont know. Do i want him to be ? I dont know because then we will probably not afford to keep the core players together.
I just feel like he is gonna be a great fit even though he may not be paul-deron calibre. However i am not sold on that French guy, he seems too clumsy and too weak to play in nba. I hope i am wrong.

I found a fun article in SI about Burke. Great article for us homers who want to feel great about our pick.

Liked this:

I've seen Burke as low as eighth in mock drafts. There is no way there are seven players in this draft better than Burke. If he drops that low, then stop making jokes about the NBA rigging its lottery. If teams are that foolish with their picks, then the draft is un-riggable.

Trey Burke thew a grenade and killed 50 people, then it exploded. Trey Burke once bowled a perfect game with a marble. Trey Burke can drown a fish. Trey Burke can do a wheelie on a unicycle. I am now officially on the Trey Burke band wagon. I SMELL CHAMPIONSHIP....GO JAZZ!

Last year and during this college season Burke is who I was hoping the Jazz would be able to get but once the workouts started I also was hoping for CJ McCollum. However some of that could also be because I thought there was no way they'd be able to get Burke as getting McCollum was seeming like a long shot as well.

I posted on page 2 or 3 of this thread of all the players that have won the National Player of the year award and the majority had success in the NBA, the success varied of course and in a draft with very little to no super star power if the Jazz got a starting PG then that should be a success and anything past that is gravy IMO.

Guess with how busy last night was I guess I missed that you were joking about Gobert.

I never really bothered reading up on Burke because I thought there would be a zero percent chance of getting him.

All we have to do know is sign Chris Paul to mentor him. Our FO can do it!

Did anyone else hear Corbin giggling through his interview with Locke & Lindsey? He was either REALLY excited, or had been drinking something to help him relax. I thought it was odd.

I remembered this from a while back:

Jamaal Tinsley ‏@jatinsley 31 Mar
Watching point guard play of trey Burke impressed with his engine and court vision. He's going places

Tinsley can't shoot, but he's a helluva passer and knows the game. Burke doesn't need help shooting. For a reclamation project with character concerns, Tinsley has been the BIGGEST surprise for me as a Jazz player. It's too bad he doesn't have much gas in the tank,. Then again, if he had, he wouldn't have signed with the Jazz. For a player who is an UFA, I think it was a very classy move on Tinsley's part to tweet Burke and congratulate him on becoming a Jazz player. I used to think Watson would be a future PG mentor/coach for Utah. Maybe we found that in Tinsley. I definitely want him back as the 3rd PG.
