Lauri didn’t grow up a Jazz fan though so this poll is always gonna be biased.

But the chance to play with Wemby and being fed the ball by Chris Paul?

Sign me up.

Since we're doing mum jokes here why not;

@The Midnight and @Douchebag K are driving along a country road together and Douchebag sees a ewe trapped in the barbed wire fence, he pulls over and Onelove asks (in baby talk) "what are you doing?" Douchebag says "well you can't let an opportunity like this slip" and with that he undoes his pants and just rails the poor sheep, finishing with a satisfied groan.

He turns to Onelove or the The Midnight or whatever other nom de plume he goes by these days and asks "Do you want a go?"

Onelove thinks about it long and hard and goes "sure why not?"

Onelove then bends over and sticks his head into the barbed wire fence.
Well, … only an Aussie could come up with a joke like that..

lol

Big difference getting a bag at 27 as opposed to getting a bag at 28. Means you can get another bag one year earlier
Maybe I'm naive or something but just one bag, of the size of bags we are talking about, is enough for me.

Living at our regular human being salaries, I agree. Living at salary pro athletes live by makes it more of a conversation

I can be wrong, but I believe if he is traded now to a team like the Spurs they can can offer him only 8 million less total over the course of the 5-year max contract. Add to that that Texas has no state income tax and that playing alongside Wembanyama can lead to considerable higher endorsement deals and Lauri quite likely would end up better off than staying in Utah.
You made a point. Going in a team which will be a contender pretty soon and getting more money instead of staying in SLC and playing for a tanking team..... quite easy to answer for me. Except of his family does not want to move. If it's the case, he is ruining his best years as a basketball player. But i can understand, family come first.

I got a big bag Friday night, worst part was flushing the leftovers down the dunny on Monday cause I had to fly home. The bag can never be big enough.

Only he knows how miserable or not he is from all the losing the last two years. I HATE losing and would likely be miserable. I’d likely far rather go elsewhere with the chance of not just winning but winning a lot of games and maybe winning it all (not necessarily in year one but by year 3) and take less money in doing so.

I think. I’m not in his situation so it’s easy for me to say. If the difference is say 50M, all bets are off and I might stay, especially if I genuinely like my teammates, the organization, and think there’s a legit chance the team improves drastically due to the organic growth of George, Hendricks, Williams and Collier.

I cant imagine that Lauri is happy here, especially if this becomes year 3 of sucking. And if that happens year 4 of sucking is likely. I do find the Bleacher Reports articles on what the Jazz have tried to do in the offseason interesting. IF they are accurate, we wanted Bridges and Paul George and also made a play on Trae Young. Maybe Lauri still has hope we have interest in winning rather than accumulating draft picks.

Story on Bridges and George

Story on Trae Young

Not sure if these are legit but if so, maybe it makes him want to be here. Plenty of players are willing to go through a process to get better but at this point we are just spinning and 2 more years of playing rebuild simply means Lauri is burning his prime with a team that doesnt want to win on his timetable.

GSW/Spurs/Clippers/Sixers/Lakers either don't have the assets necessary to acquire him or would have to empty their bank completely.

If Lauri wanna leave, I'd assume he's leaving for a real contender, not for a similar situation where he has to mentor a bunch of kids(Spurs/Rockets/Portland) or pretend to contend for a couple of seasons only for early round exits then completely fall off the map.

The only team that woukd make sense here is OKC.

I think you are selling the Spurs well short. Wemby has been rapidly improving over the course of the season and at the end of it the Spurs played like a 0.500 team (11-12 record). They can certainly try to tank for the strong 2025 draft (the Spurs have their own pick and 3 other 1st round picks!), but if they decide against it and go all on the Spurs have a good shot at making playoffs even with what they have now. And with Lauri they will be in the playoffs for sure. Unlike the Jazz.
