I've always thought Augustin seemed to at least produce when given opportunities (despite what some sentiments I have earlier said might indicate). I really don't know the QUALITY of player that he is, and the fact that he seems to be having a breakout year in what would equate to a contract year is somewhat disconcerting. He's also quite short to hope he's going to be the future PG of a hopeful contender and is probably going to command some coin.

But I like that idea a whole **** load more than riding out whatever with Harris. Who honestly, they should've just flipped before he ever suited up here.

The Odom TPE is 8.9 million dollars. Harris is like 9.3 million. Not sure on the rules, but I think it can be within 50% of the value?

Agreed. Its hard to judge what sort of player you are when you've been playing for the Bobcats throughout your career, and you're only a few seasons into the NBA. The PG situation is proving to be a tough one for the Jazz. As a canadian, I have seen my full share of Toronto games, and I just really dislike Jose Calderon. The sheer amount of slack defense that he plays is just aggravating. On paper he looks nice, but then again, so did Carlos Boozer. Hes essentially a Boozer in PG form, in my opinion. Harris also managed to make it to the Finals as a starting PG, FWIW. If he simply shoots at a higher eprcentage, and offer some sort of offensive weapon, then I would be much more content. His his low assist numbers arent of concern to me, seeing as were still one of the decent assisting NBA teams in the league. His defense has come around. I feel like we should give Harris a bit more time to see if he rebounds. Bell rebounded, CJ rebounded, lets hope Hayward and Harris are next.

No. Non-simultaneous doesn't allow any more than $100,000 over traded player's contract. You trade the 150% rule for time and open up options with other teams.

We would be missing Harris's outside shooting.

Right, we would be missing his outside shooting, but we wouldn't be missing his outside (or inside ) scoring, since there is none. Silly me thought missing that shooting would be a good thing.

Could be worse though we could have the Cougar shooters putting up those threes for us. 0-21 last night folks. Epic !

Should we gamble on Augustin?? Short PG, but decent shooter. Havent seen enough of his play to have a formidable opinion, really.

Averaging 7.2 assists per game at the age of 24 with that potpourri of ****heads in Charlotte is fairly impressive actually. Might they do it for a TPE and 2nd or something?

This is the one thing I've always been high on him for .. on the other hand, Teague does a great job getting into the lane and I wouldn't draft him in the 1st.
Kabongo seems to drive to create plays. Either a shot for himself or someone else. Teague seems to drive to score and pass if a shot doesn't present itself.

I seriously do not know what we expect to get in return. I would be happy if we could move him, but what is it really going to profit us at this point, unless he is packaged with something we do not want to lose?

You're right. That way, if he continues to be terrible, any lingering trade value that he might still have will no longer be there.

His realistic ceiling is playing a brand of basketball well that doesn't fit in with what everyone else is trying to do and crapping out in three years. No thanks.

If my starter was Drew Gooden (Harris), you can bet your *** I'd trade for Carlos Boozer.

Should have drafted Brandon Knight.
While I like Kanter, it's really hard to disagree with that right now. Drafting Kanter ONLY makes sense if you're prepared to get rid of Millsap or Jefferson, IMO. But drafting Knight? That's probably your last chance to draft the PG you want to build with.
