What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

I did some checking when I saw that yesterday. No credibility as that guy pulls stuff out his *** all the time. Miami fans were telling that guy eat a big bowl of Shut The Fudge Up.

Nothing about it seemed really truthful. That would have added salary for Miami and Heat made a few moves to duck the tax at year end.

I think we have interest in Dragic if we strike out. I think they would like to be off of his money. If it was our second or third good sized move I could be okay with it, but Goran may just be completely washed.

And that's why we don't get anywhere. We've had how many years for Favors to provide an outside game or work to create some kind of offensive game.

Sometimes, being a Jazz fan can be so frustrating. Is our goal to outscore teams 75-73 every game? Is defense the only thing that matters?

It's probably true, but also remember Favs is TJ's guy. He's gonna cape for him.

Randle is fairly intriguing at the right price... seems like a mature hard working young man. Married with a kid so he might be the type that prefers Utah's family friendly slower vibe.

He should be on the list for consideration... I understand the defense ain't good. Can it get to average or okay... because he adds some things that Favs doesn't. Unless someone wants Favs on his one year deal, waive him and move on. Give a few million extra to Ed Davis... now you have your great backup center. If we really wanted to keep Favs do it last offseason and move on from Ricky. To move forward we have to leave some good things behind.

Would've probably been a terrible trade tbh

Some dude at the trade deadline tweeted it and it blew up. Then he admitted he just made it up to see what people believed. He wasn't even a reporter, just some random dude.

The way Locke periodically brings up Dragic tells me there is some smoke there tho.

Dragic shouldn’t even be in the conversation. At all.

Why? He wasn't healthy last year and he's older, but he was productive last year in the playoffs and regular season. It's all about the price for me.

Just think about how good we were with Neto at PG... just solid and dependable... old many Dragic is better than Neto. So if we strike out and we can get him with say Korver and leftover cap space then why not? He could get healthy and be great in our system.

Cause he’s due to make 19M+, is always hurt and does nothing for us after this expiring year other than eat up cap space.

I’d rather spend 19M on Beverley, Caruso and Portis who combined wouldn’t make much more than that.

I'd probably prefer that as well, but Beverly has had his fair share of injuries and I wouldn't want to give him a long term deal. I would assume any Dragic conversation would be after striking out on those types. He's conversation worthy... he's an option... that's all I'm saying.

He's worst case scenario, but he's still a scenario. No one is clamoring for him right now, probably including Jazz management.

Per Andy Larsens…. In his weekly run podcast...

We have like a 25-45% shot at getting Tobias. He mentioned Tobias was not really into the vibe around Philly. Too much drama. His first choice would be Brooklyn, but if the Nets want to sign Kyrie and retain Russell then they can't do that. So we'd be the next choice on his list.

So I guess... if Kyrie goes to Brooklyn we end up nabbing Tobias or Russell (I think). It seems reasonable that we won't end up empty handed. Who knows... maybe Brooklyn focuses on Kyrie and we push hard on Tobias and he doesn't want to wait.

Anyway... there is some hope.

Getting either of those guys would be a successful offseason to me.

Yeah I was surprised to hear that Andy heard Utah was his second choice. So that was cool. If Tobias doesn't sign with us, I hope it's Brooklyn since that's one domino that needs to fall to at least have a chance at D'Lo.

The other domino...

That's only going to make it hurt more when he signs will the Brooklyn
