OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

Portland has 1 more win now... they're starting to catch fire on the back of Lillard's breakout year....

Yep, Portland too. I'm not sure you can call it a "breakout year." He's already considered one of the best PG's in the league. Scoring has gone up from 21 to almost 25 because he lost two big weapons in Aldridge and Matthews. He has to carry a bigger load, But damn, why can't we have a player make a leap like McCollum has? I get so jealous seeing all these teams that have legitimate shooters. I think Utah either needs to post a Help Wanted ad for a quality shooting coach or change their drafting priorities. Yes, defense is important. But so is putting the ball through the damn hoop!

Not just scoring..... he has made it his mission to get his teammates involved this year and has had 7, 9, 10, 9, 10, 10 assists over the past 6 games since he came back from injury. He averaged only 6.2 last year.

In that light, then I see what you mean. He is definitely the team leader. Maybe that's what we need. Rudy is fiery, but he doesn't have the skills to just take over a game. Gordon is soft-spoken; he's not going to do it. Definite spot for a leader. Not sure we'll ever have one, though. Favors is kind of quiet and Exum is scared of his own shadow,

Yeah .... I applaud DL for trying to build the Jazz like the '04 Pistons... but we still need our "Mr. Big Shot".

Last night:

Rockets, Wolves, Suns and Nuggets lost.

The Mavs, Pelicans, Blazers and Thunder won.

Tonight's games:

Warriors @ Pistons
Blazers @ Sixers
Knicks @ Grizz
Lakers @ Jazz
Kings @ Clippers (Kings loss is better IMO)

I'll update the OP tomorrow.

I took a week vacation and didn't get to check Jazzfanz that often. The Jazz picked up a much needed blowout win last night against the miserable Nets and now because the Washington game got postponed the Jazz have a lot of games at home in a row. The Jazz are primed to retake the 8 seed sooner rather then later! LETS GO

Jazz lost last night but Favors came back. And Neto went down with a concussion. Ugh...

Wolves, Pelicans, Nuggets, Kings and Spurs all lost.

Warriors, Rockets and Grizzlies won. Aside from Favors coming back it was a bad night for Utah.

Tonight's games:

Clips @ Pacers
Suns @ Sixers (I want the Suns to full tank now and get a good pick)
Thunder @ Knicks
Kings @ Blazers (win win)
Mavs @ Lakers (Mavs loss would be nice)

Jazz are 1 game out of 8th and 6 games out of 5th now. Injuries have heavily impacted the W-L column this season. But no! I believe!!

5th Seed Express coming thru!! CHOO CHOO Ladies, gents and Cy!

Last night's recap:

Jazz won and won big. Hayward and Hood lit up the Hornets. Tonight's win ties us with the Kings for 9th (they have the tie breaker) and we are even with the Blazers in 8th.

Clippers, Thunder, Spurs and Warriors also won. Those are the 4 tops seeds and not direct competition so what ever.

Rockets (yes!), Mavs (yes!), Suns, Wolves and Nuggets all lost. A damn good night for the Jazz. All the right teams won and lost.

Tonight's recap:

Nuggets @ Wizards
Bucks @ Grizz
Kings @ Pelicans
Bulls @ Lakers

OP updated

Last night's recap:

Kings lost! Big loss for them. Yes! This moves the jazz into 9th and statistically tied with Portland for 8th. Lakers also lost.

Pelicans, Nuggets and unfortunately the Grizzlies won.

Tonight's games:

Suns @ Knicks (I want the Suns to pass the Lakers in the tank race)
Rockets @ Thunder (jazz need a Rockets loss)
Nets @ Mavs (pray for a miracle)
Wolves @ Jazz (Jazz need another win and I want the wolves to pass the Lakers in the tank race)
Hornets @ Blazers (A Blazers loss would be HUGE for Utah!)
Lakers @ Clippers (Can the arena cave in on them during the 1st Q?)

Tonight is a huge opportunity for the Jazz. If they win and Portland losses they can recapture the 8th seed! Also if the Rockets and Mavs loss the Jazz narrow that gap as well.

5th seed here we come!!!! CHOO CHOO!!!!!

Ya'll need to rise up and get rowdy damnit! Where's is the passion!!! Gonna go on a run and take what's ours! By force!!!!

Last nights recap:

Thrilling Jazz win in OT against the 5th seed in the east. (Jazz have now beaten the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 8th seeds in the east).

Grizz (dang), Thunder, Nuggets and Kings (double dang) also won.

Pelicans and Mavs lost. That Mavs loss is a good pick up. Jazz are keeping pace with the 8th seed and are only 1 1/2 out of 7th. Mavs lead on the Jazz has narrowed to 4 and the 5th seed Grizz are 6 games ahead. Jazz are coming on hard and the Blazers, Rockets and Mavs better be looking over their shoulder.

Tonight's games:

Heat @ Rockets
Raptors @ Suns
Bucks @ Blazers
Wolves @ Lakers (Really want to see the Suns and Wolves beat out the Lakers for the tank in the west)

OP updated.

Keep up the good work stoked

All this damage from injuries and halfway through the season Jazz are still 8th. I can easily see a 6th seed and a postseason run deeper than Big Al of Utah's

Blazers won again tonight.. that's 5 in a row for them. They're firing in all cylinders now it seems. Lillard's attempt at a more complete player shines through again tonight dishing out no less than 12 assists. Seems like these young Blazers are figuring out how to win games. They are out biggest competitor for the 8th seed that's for sure.

Quick question: Do we need to add Teague just to make the playoffs this year?

We're also in a tough situation with the Blazers cuz they beat us twice and both games weren't close. We need to blow them the **** out both times to stand a chance (assuming tiebreaker goes to point differential?)
