Let's think of it differently.

If you could only have either Hayward or Hood going forward who do you choose?

Instead of getting rid of Hayward or any of these guys I'd rather put it on our coach to figure out how to get them to all play well together.

Hood needs more control of the offense, doe. He'll be our best offensive player as soon as next year, IMO. Hayward is a keeper, but there are some adjustments that need to be made.

Hood has not had to experience being the focal point of opposing defenses. Hayward has for 2 years now. Having Hood and Hayward together is a pretty lethal combo going forward if Hood can keep progressing.

The three people on this team that should be untouchable are Favors, Hayward and Hood. Two way players who are threats on many different levels.

trading Hayward now would make no sense, but I suppose all options are on the table for the FO later on and rightfully so : Keept the team growing, hopefully we make the Playoffs, keep all players improving and at some point decisions will have to be made in regards to personnel to try and go to the next level.

Will the team be able to go to that next level as it is (with Exum and Gobert's improvement as keys), or will there need to be some consolidation around a trade for a superstar?

In such scenarios I don't think any player is actually completely off limits, even Gobert while defensively fantastic could be tradeable for the right (ie very very juicy) package. So if you tell me that in the next year Hayward + x get traded, I wouldn't be surprised nor mad, it's part of the business.

The team will continue to grow level by level as the next 2-3 years go by. Exum only one year. Hood in only his second. Favors is still getting better on offense Gobert is still very young and Hayward still developing as the cool focal point of our offense, and our rookie Lyles obviously. This team just lacks experience individually and as a unit. They will be much better once they learn to stop going away from their offensive schemes and sets.

Depends on salary size.

If their salaries are the same, then I probably pick Hayward (tough call though)

If their salaries are different then I go with the cheaper of the two

Umm, no. The Jazz clearly had to take a PG in the draft since KOC and DL left the team devoid of one. That was a HUGE mistake by the two GM's as it eliminated taking BPA.

"had to"? Assuming the only way to get a PG is drafting one in the top 10? Alternatives: Trade, free agency, later draft picks, etc.

Don't forget that that pick was influenced by Corbin... Bet he woulda taken Antetokounmpo if they didn't trade.

According to Locke if the Jazz had not moved up and the 2-3 pgs ( I assume Burke, McCollum and MCW) were off the board they were prepared to draft Rudy Gobert with their pick.

Granted, that could have been the plan assuming that Antetokounpo or other players were off the board at 14.
