NFL 2016 Season Thread

maybe I'm crazy, but I'd rather put my stock in the players on the field.

I knew the Doncos were in trouble the minute they signed Sanchez.

He won't even be on the team. Denver saves roughly 3.5 mill against the cap and a draft pick by cutting him. Colquitt will be gone as well IMO. Elway is working on a Sanders extension.

but they signed him at one point, right? So, umm, yeah... they did. And that's when I knew they were in trouble.

How did this Siemian dude even get drafted? Does he have ridiculous arm strength or something?

7th round risk. Development QB. Nothing special. Not exactly sure what they saw in him.

What do y'all think of some of the other teams like the Raiders, Steelers and Cardinals?

Steelers are a SB favorite to me if Ben is healthy. I like the Cardinals a lot but I don't think Palmer can beat Russell, or Cam, they'll go 11-5 and lose in the NFC semis. Raiders have a lot of nice pieces just like my Buccs but I have to see it come to fruition first before I predict playoffs for either team, I think they both go 9-7.

I think the Raiders might contend for a wild card spot this year. But I think they need one more year. Ugh I hate them and their fans.

I hate the Steelers and Pats as well.

Anyone have any dark horses for the playoffs or title?

My SB dark horse are the Bengals, not that big of a stretch but if Dalton stays healthy I think they're legit contenders.

If he could ever figure out his fear of big moments they could be an extremely good team. I'd rather they get to the SB than the Pats or Steelers for sure.

I think last year was his time to trash that narrative and he got hurt trying to make up for his mistake. I love their roster.

In 2015 Manning was terrible. he threw 9 TDs to 17 Ints, completed 59.8 % of his passes, threw for 1,500 yards less than any other season in his career, had the lowest QBR of his career at 45.0 and a rating of 67.9 which is also a career low.

2015 Manning was not special. He could read D but couldn't throw well enough to do anything with that info.

lol indeed.

Cool. Sieman's last year in college, his senior year when he was experienced and older than everybody else...58% completions, 7 TD's and 11 INT's. Against crappy Big 10 colleges. Sorry, but he won't be better than Manning.

Agree.
Two #1 worthy running backs, a top 5 tight end, a top five'ish wide receiver, good O-line, good defense, good special teams. Dalton is the key and he is pretty good.... Just might not be good enough doe.

Eifert is still hurt but when healthy he's legit top 4 at the TE spot.

This is the most excited I've been for the Buccs since I was 8 years old, it's been a long time. We could easily go 10-6 and get the WC but as I said earlier I have to see it first, but we've got all the pieces.

Well I guess we will see.

Manning was beyond awful last year, even when Siemian is expectedly awful he will likely be equal to Manning from last season, based on the simple fact that it's nearly impossible to be worse than Manning was last season. Kubiak's (or anyone else's) 'system' doesn't mean much with a ****ty offensive line. If they offensive line is ****ty again they will suck on offense again. Unless you have Aaron Rogers or smth, it's worthless to hope for good QB play with an awful offensive line.

And I doubt Denver will be as lucky as last season.

However, they won't be 'lucky' to be 7-9. That's pretty foolish to say imo. Their best case definitely exceeds that.

Again, the quarterback **** is ****ing annoying when the real problem is how awful the offensive line is. Fans never give a **** about this though. They won't win the Super Bowl with a 2nd straight year of non-existent run blocking.

I'd say no matter how his career pans out it was a pretty exceptional scouting job by the Broncos staff. He has zero exceptional tools, but he isn't really missing any crucial ones (not immobile, no noodle arm, etc.) besides experience. Of course, don't really know about his mental tools much until he gets some game reps and experience. That's always the make or break. He definitely looks like he can stay in the league as a +backup tho for sure.

How the Broncos saw anything in him is beyond me though, considering how often he was injured in college (iirc) and how awful his team and numbers were (which have already been stated). Also, the dude could have simply been cut last year as a 7th round pick on a team that already had Manning and Osweiler, but they chose to keep him on the roster.

Who knows if he can be anything close to a competent starter, but it would be pretty foolish to expect anyone to be a competent starter in his position tbh. He's a 7th round pick 2nd year player with no regular season experience, and has a ****ty offensive line.

Hopefully the change up on the line and growth of players already there along with the addition of a traditional fullback will help with this. Kubiak is going for the run and that is heavily reliant on the O Line.
