Seriously. Hayward to me, has the skill and IQ and now plays like he's a #1 option on a deep playoff team IMO. In some ways its his natural development but I also think it's largely because the pressure is sub-consciously off with Hill here acting as not just a point guard that Hayward's basically never had but also a leader that Hayward just really is not. We seem ultra focused and I'd love somebody to look up what our defensive and offensive ratings are after tonight as well as what they are over the last four games since Hill's come back and we've really started to hit our stride like we did two seasons ago.
Really, really starting to look legit.
Lastly, Favors' injury may be a blessing of sorts because it's giving Lyles more floor time to develop, and since we are winning and really playing well, Favors can truly rehab and sit until he's truly 100% healthy. If he can come back by the new year (when our schedule gets tougher), we could really be looking at a spectacular season. I honestly think we can compete with anybody in the NBA in the playoffs. We just need to throw together a solid 82 game season so that the players see that as well (53+ wins?) and win the close games more often than not and have that confidence going into the post-season.
