I think it's an issue. I have created quite a few threads that upon submitting thought better of it and deleted them. If you had a problem with my Edward the Vampire and his allergies thread, you would have really hated my others. Which is why I need a personal board.

The time limit for editing the thread title is currently 5 minutes. What do you think it should be? (Apparently infinity is not an option.)

I couldn't find a separate setting for deleting the first post in a thread. Either (a) you are incorrect, and the first post can indeed be deleted, (b) it uses the same setting for editing the thread title for this, (c) there is no setting; you just cannot delete the first post in a thread, or (d) something else. My working theory is (a), since I just tried creating a test thread and was able to delete the first post in it (which caused the whole thread to be deleted, incidentally). However, I'm an administrator so perhaps I have more permission for things like that. At any rate, there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about the global settings in this regard.

The word wrap for longer paragraphs/posts is really small. Why can't they be spread out across the page like they should be?

I'm not sure what you mean. The paragraphs I see extend to the right-hand-edge of the page. Can anyone else see what he means?

Your previous post to this is an example. Goes about 50 characters or so and wraps. I'll check it in IE and see if was Firefox that was the issue.

EDIT: Nope, does the same thing in IE.

Also can't remember how to screen grab, so I can't post that at the moment.

Weird. As I said, it's not doing that for me. (I use Firefox.) Anyone else?

Hey Colton, any idea how to edit or reset a poll? I knew how to do it on the old board but now I cant figure it out.

I think 1-2 hours would be a good setting. I also think it was about a half hour after I posted my thread that I tried to edit the title, and when I couldn't do that, I tried to delete the thread, but that option was gone, too. Then again, it's all a mute point because the thread title is only visible to someone who has logged in to the personal forum. If I'm not signed in, it shows there are no posts or threads, but that's not the case.

I think I'll go with 30 minutes, in case there are unintended consequences of setting a lengthy time for this. For all intensive purposes, 30 minutes should suffice.

Thirty minutes should be plenty. This probably should of been the default setting. Then again, good luck changing thread titles for darft/lottery countdown threads.

Here it is, Colton.

Darkwing: bizarre, but I've got nothing for you. Just check all of your individual settings, I guess, since that doesn't seem to be happening for other people.

it's happening for me, but as far as I can tell, only on that post! It's a somehat lengthy post, and it only goes across about 1/2 my screen before it wraps. When I make my window narrower, the text column gets even narrower. I'm using firefox 3.5.5 on a Macbook. I'll try to keep an eye on other posts (maybe I'll go to tater's lengthy post) Or maybe there was something different about the way you entered that particular post?

Ah, I see. It is happening for me, too, but only on some posts. I'll check to see if there are any global options that can be changed.

just a word of caution here, it's maybe just because I have "super powers" but I can view your topics and posts without logging in at all.

As a bowler (not a golfer though) I'm really tempted to post my high scores in your bowling thread. Don't worry, I won't - but I just thought you should know that it's not quite as private as you may have thought.

Well, I found a global setting which MIGHT explain this behavior. (The description is not too clear.) Please let me know if you continue to see narrow posts like that.

Nope, I did some testing and it apparently still happens. I can't figure out why. Maybe Jason will have more luck.

I can't believe no one caught what I did there. Sheesh.
