Pursue Kevin Love Around the Draft?

The only way Cleveland does that trade is if Lebron approves it. Otherwise, they risk pissing off the guy who fired their last coach. Seems like a real long shot, if the big thing we are offering Cleveland is avoiding the luxury tax and first rounders. Lebron (and the Cavs) are in WIN-NOW mode. You won't get an All-Star like Love unless, they feel like you are giving them another All-Star who is a better fit and will help get them past the Warriors next season.

The only crazy Jazz trades that make sense for our roster, and the objective of getting Gordon Hayward back are the ones that involve Damian Lillard and Goran Dragic.

I agree that this trade a stretch, but I'm using process of elimination here.

IF, the Cavs get under the luxury before July 1, they would have the option to add a full midlevel player for next season.

IF, the Cavs can use the assets we give to get Melo, they replace Love with Melo.

IF, they get Melo and have the full midlevel, it is conceivable that they convince Chris Paul to come to Cleveland. He has said he wants to play with Melo and wants to win a title.

Kyrie, JR

Interesting season next year...

I think Love would be a great fit...but the Jazz don't have many players that would interest CLE. Hood and Favors might not even make the closing lineup for the Cavs...though the same can be said for Love.

Drat picks and developing players would have no value to the Cavs.

I think the point is that there are other teams like Chicago and New York who have players that LeBron will want, but Cleveland doesn't have anything to trade them. We just help facilitate it

I would be down Favors + 24 + Burks and 1 more pick.
But im not sure they would accept

After watching last night, I don't want Love. His window of affecting the game as a PF is probably another 2 or 3 years max. When things get tight, teams go small. Or at least 4 small with one big. I fully expect Gobert to be our 1 guy because he owns the paint. Love would be great to maybe entice Hayward to stay and for a couple years, but long term I have some questions.
