I was just saying the other day, of all the guys on this board who can admit when they are wrong, CY has got to be at the top. You're probably the king of admitting to being wrong.


I kinda suck at it, but in my defense, I'm just not wrong very often. I probably just need more practice. If you have some advice, it would be greatly appreciated.;)

We've been hearing how he doesn't fit ever since we drafted Lyles. Since then, Lyles has had every opportunity to prove that theory.

Instead, we won our first game 7 in years, because Favors is a really good ****ing player.

I'm totally sick of the doesn't fit/spacing arguments. The only legit argument against Favors is the question about his health.

He said he was healthy at the end of the season yet didn't play with Gobert against GS. They ousted us and are our competition. Paying $20+ per year for Favors is lunacy.

First off, NOBODY knows what kind of contract Favors will get. Completely depends on how healthy he stays next season.

Second, the series against GS means squat. The Cavs weren't anywhere close to beating that team with the best player in the world.

Again, if you want to use the Favors didn't play against GS....the whole dumbass argument is that he doesn't fit and Lyles fits better next to Rudy...

Zero games in the playoffs show Utah is better off without Favors.

The clippers series shows Utah is a lot better with Favors playing well, and nothing, I say nothing shows that Utah plays better with Lyles giving better spacing.
 
I think the best trade for Favors is to invent a time machine and get the Favors of years ago.
He's now injury prone and degrading.
Looking at past players that get random season lasting injuries they never seem to ever get over it. Stodamire. Darius Miles. Rose. Stromile Swift. Bryant Reeves. Rashard Lewis. Tons of guys just like Favs.

Actually the argument is that Favors doesn't fit next to Rudy. Which is pretty much a proven fact at this point. Even when Favs is healthy he rarely plays next to Rudy. And he doesn't play next to Rudy at all against certain lineups. He's basically the backup center at this point. Lyles has nothing to do with that point.
 
I'll be absolutely bummed if favors is gone. I still think if he regains full health he's a beast, and from memory there were clearly two games in the playoffs we won because of what he was able to do even on one leg. The defensive rating is just so epically good with him & Rudy on the floor and if he regains his midrange shooting ... Lyles has such a long way to go

There are legit reasons to trade Favors. Him not fitting next to Gobert is NOT one of them. Numbers show otherwise. 3 years running Gobert+Favors has better net rating than either of them alone. This has to be the most failed yet persistent narrative about our team in recent years.
 
He is only piece who has some value that Utah might trade anyways. So it is normal, he might have heard he is on the trade line and got pissed.
Look at other guys;
Lyles + Exum they didnt fulfill half of their potential, they have no real trade value. Burks, as much as he sucks, he seems worse than he actually is right now. And Rodney better stays than traded unless he will bring someone like Demar Derozan on the table.
So %90 Favors is being traded on July 22.
