Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

Last season, first game, Dame hit a buzzer beater 3 to beat us (Hayward was out with broken finger, Joe Jesus had team high 28 points in his very first Jazz game)

Dame later had his career high in points (59) in our last match up. Potential Jazz Killer.

He's averaging 22.5 points this season, I'm calling on Donovan and Rubio to hold him under 15.

Last night's recap:

Suns, Lakers and Thunder won. Kings lost.

Tonight's games:

Blazers @ Jazz
Suns @ Wizards (eh)
Kings @ Celtics (Cs can get bent)
Rockets @ Knicks
Magic @ Grizzlies
Wolves @ Pelicans (Wolves are bigger competition IMO)
Raptors @ Nuggets
Mavs @ Clips

JJ is out for at least 2 weeks with an "unstable ligament" in his wrist/hand. Need the wings to step up!

CHOO CHOO!!!!!

If tonight plays out like this here will be your standings:

1. Grizz 5-3
2. Jazz 5-3
3. Warriors 5-3
4. Rockets 5-4
5. Spurs 4-3
6. Thunder 4-3
7. Clippers 4-3
8. Blazers 4-4
9. Wolves 4-4
10 Pelicans 4-4
11. Nuggets 3-5

Basically Jazz would be tied for the top seed in the west 7-9 games in.

Tied for 3rd in the west. Not bad, not bad at all.

I predict we will be in at least 3rd place by the end of November.

What a game! Mitchell came to play and got rewarded. Snyder clearly trusts him as he played a prominent role in the 4th and OT. Hood disappeared completely. Also Jerebko with those 3s! and that Gobert block at the end of regulation!!!!

Grizz, Kings, Pelicans, Mavs and Blazers lost.

Rockets, Nuggets, Clippers, Wolves and Suns won.

Tonight's games:

Warriors @ Spurs (win-win but I think the Spurs are bigger direct competition so I hope they lose)

Lakers @ Blazers (Lakers win will help more)

Edit: next two Jazz games will be tough. v Raptors and @ Rockets...

OP Updated with standings.

I expect us to beat Raptors. They just got blown out in Denver and typically at the end of West coast trips high altitude gives huge advantage for home team.

That and Utah loves to play spoiler for Houston...

7-3 sounds amazing to me. Especially since that means we would be 5-2 against possible playoff teams.

This is not the same team it was two years ago. Even without an offensive star, they just figure out a way to win games. Too bad they laid a stinker against Phoenix. 6-2 to start the year would’ve been amazing considering how many people picked the Jazz to tumble in the standings. Hopefully they can continue to get it done.

Love the contribution from all the new guys so early on in the season.

Read this on Salt City Hoops -

“Rubio, Mitchell, Jerebko, and Thabo Sefolosha scored 81 points on 51 shots.

Utah’s stable of holdovers from last season – Gobert, Ingles, Derrick Favors, Rodney Hood, and Alec Burks – scored 31 points on 38 shots. Take away Gobert, and that falls to 15 points on 29 shots.”

Last season we started 5-3 as well. But then our team hit a rough patch and went 2-5 to put our record at the low point for the season of 7-8. We lost 4 in a row during that stretch.

Bourbon up front with me and stoked

Warriors beat the Spurs and Blazers beat the Lakers on a cold blooded Lillard 3.

Tonight's games:

Raptors @ Jazz
Rockets @ Hawks
Suns @ Knicks (eh)
Pelicans @ Mavs (eh)
Hornets @ Spurs
Heat @ Nuggets
Celtics @ Thunder
Net @ Lakers (eh)

If the bolded teams win the Jazz will be tied for 2nd place with the Warriors. Spurs will have a losing record of 4-5

Any idea how long kahwi will be out?

Spurs beat the hornets, they're rubbish. I gotta be up to see Midnight Oil in 6 hours, gonna miss the game.

I normally don't do the "what ifs" to much but man oh man. If the Jazz had landed Mitchell and Kuzma in the draft...they'd have crushed it. Double grand slam in stead of just one grand slam in Mitchell.

Or Giannis and Rudy.
At least Dennis has a .500 record in drafts where he's had a chance to land stars.

The playoff bus just blew a tire, though. Can't waste these chances to beat equivalent teams at home. I'm just waiting for the board meltdown when Utah goes 4-11 in December.
