Mitchell needs to start

Sorry guys... into the Crown tonight. Just having a little fun. Cheers!

I mean, how could so many question that talent? He is the best player on our team and it's not even close. To a few it was obvious but many questioned him.

Life must be interesting living in a world of such radical extremes. Since when does taking a carefully reasoned approach to evaluating a young player equal some kind of pessimistic doubting of his capabilities?

Furthermore, why the hell would you want to suggest he isn't still mostly potential? I certainly love the idea that he is going to get a lot better...

For the record, I'm choosing to allow myself some unfettered optimism and hope he really is some kind of generational superstar - it's fun - but it's also crazy to say that he's already far and away the best player on this team.

God forbid some people wanting to see him play an actual NBA game before declaring him "DWade with Defense".

Nailed Wiggins, Randle, Gordon and Exum part. Pretty spot on Smart and Payton. Give him some props.

He didnt nail anything on Exum. The guy has had two season injuries. Please stfu about Exum. I'm not a huge fan of him either, but making any declarations on him, like you so often do, is beyond stupid.

Nice, carefully reasoned response. But that statement is ridiculous. Did you see him last night? That **** was phenomenal.

Not making many declarations about him since draft - I made zero threads about Exum compared to thleikeen for example who made probably 50 at least... Mostly responding to Exum homers who trying to compare him to Mitchell as equal. But if you suggest ignoring them, fine. There are plenty of others to remind them how delusional they are.

You are both equally as annoying.

People were still questioning him this week when it was obvious he was legit, even without his shot falling. He was shot out of a cannon in summer league and hasn't slowed down. What he did last night in his 8th game is the best all-around performance I've ever seen that early from anyone not named Jordan. He took on their whole team a few times and still took it to the hole. He drained long-range 3-pointers. He made steals. He set up plays. His passes were pinpoint accurate with huge zip. His stats don't even relay how good he was.

Donovan had 25 pts. Was 4-4 FT. He had 2 steals. 2 blocks. 0 turnovers. 3-7 3pt. 3 REB. 4 fouls...some smart fouls.

He would have had some assists too if the shots were falling. And he did all of this in 31 minutes. He belongs on the above list.

But again, his stats only tell part of the story. His defense has been phenomenal. He altered/denied a bunch of shots last night. Yeah he had a few hiccups, but he has provided a spark on both ends every time he has hit the floor.

One indication of how good he is, and who is recognizing this, is that when it comes to the last shot of the periods and he is in the game, whose hands does Quin put the ball? No, not Rubio. In fact, the rest of the team is already deferring to him in this regard.

I think the list is just for the very first game of a rookie's season.

Putting Simmons aside who will be rookie of the year at a canter. Where does Mitchell rank in his rookie class? (granted its only 9 games in and this is probably a question that should wait a month or two)

Or 3. Lots of Rookies hit a wall.

Mitchell is pretty much the only guy who can create his own shot and then make his shot consistently...unless Rubio or Hood are having uncharacteristically good shooting nights. That's why he's going to play a lot. Once teams shut down our Rubio/Gobert or Ingles/Gobert pick and roll, we're kinda screwed right now.
