Rudy out for a month with sprained PCL/bone bruise

Please Rudy... No more early return & playing through injuries. For his own career longevity and the team, he needs to let his legs heal all the way.

He's not nearly as effective on the court as last year when he was fully healthy

Yeah, he needs to get back to 100% healthy before we let him on the court. He didnt seem to be moving great when he came back this time. We dont want the bone bruise and stuff being like Favors last year. He needs to be healthy and confident in moving before we let him back. We can survive without him and if we cant that is okay as well. We are not competiting this year for a championship. If he needs to sit out until after that all-star break or even for the year so be it, just get him healthy. We need him to be back playing at a high level for our future.

Anyway, yes, he needs to sit. No reason to rush back, especially since the Jazz have roster moves they need to make in order for him to fit on his own ****ing team at this point.

Yes. There are two people who get to call the Jazz their team, Rudy is one of them.

This is a trend with him. Third time in 8 months. Its very concerning. He needs to get back to 100%

100% not his fault. Shizz happens.
I see what you mean about being his fault. I dont necessarily think it is anything to do with his movement or musculoskeletal flaws. I mean that this has happened to him three separate times in a short amount of time. My concern is that the physicality of the game and perhaps his lower body length is working against him. I think he needs time to get healthy and strengthen his lower body.

I assume I am the other. I refer to the jazz as my team and that we got this victory all the time... so it must be me.

Pretty sure it’s just coincidence. One was a dirty play one bad luck. Happened to Blake too and he’s not a 7 footer.

Kind of worried about him, a prolonged rest may he required. He's had a rough patch of luck. The compeitor that we know as Rudy will want to get out there ASAP but he needs to rest and let D-Fav do his thing again.

He needs to rest and really work on his legs. I get it is three freak injuries, but man psychologically he must feel like ****. Glad he did not tear the ACL though...

Ah, i forgot, this is actually the fourth time this has happened to Rudy. I forgot that Elijah fell into his legs a couple seasons back and injured his MCL. Also, 3 times in the last 40 games he has played. #spooky

Maybe a good strategy just to get back after a missed shot. Had he been retreating to play defense, the injury wouldn't have happened. I notice a lot of teams just give up the defensive board. Utah has been doing that; Boston did it most of the time.

I understand the strategey but it peeves the hell out of me. I really want Love. If we had Love and Rudy cleaning up the glass, all your boards are belong to us.

I'm sure a lot of analysis has been done around how many offensive boards a team may get vs. transition points surrendered. Kind of like how long 2's are now viewed as the worst shots. Problem is, no one is finding Rudy on offense, so he's almost relegated to trying to get OR's in order to score.

I've noticed Rubio is partial to bounce passes. Favors has better hands. With Gobert, he needs the pass up high, not down around his waist (or lower).

a lot of other teams don't have Rudy Gobert.
Check that: only one team has Rudy. Confirmed.

Here's a 2-year old article by Zach Lowe about sacrificing O-boards for transition defense.

If you can't compete against a small-ball team on its terms, you might as well try to bully it -- especially if it switches a lot on defense, leaving smaller players on big guys at the end of possessions. "You have to punish those teams," says Jason Kidd. "You have to get offensive rebounds." This is what behemoth teams like the Jazz, with Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors, are betting big on

This quote is very relevant.
