The strong point of this movie is the tennis match itself which really was a spectacle and they did a pretty fantastic job of re-creating, they really nailed the authenticity of that time period. Steve Carrell is so convincing as Bobby Riggs and he has some golden moments, which I wish there was more of. This movie focuses on the story of Billie Jean King and her secret love story which I thought was the low point of the movie. Her character needed a bit more of what we saw of her early in the movie. Overall it's a OK movie, played a little too safe IMO.

So I hadn't heard about this indie flick until recently but once I heard the character Aubrey Plaza was playing I knew I had to watch it and well it was pretty great. I like Plaza and she was perfect for it but her surrounding cast was excellent as well. Ice Cube's son is turning out to be a great actor, some of his lines had me laughing so hard. This movie and characters feels very believable, which I gotta give credit to the writing it's excellent.

The Circle. Wow. Had to be one of the worst movies of 2017.

It Comes at Night. The first hour was really good imo. Then it went off the rails a bit.

Hopefully I did these spoilers brackets right as I’ve never tried using them before so here come the spoilers. Two main issues with the last 25 minutes. One, when the male guest starts bashing Edgerton’s face in and the latter’s wife, rifle locked and loaded, does nothing, as dude bashed him time and again. Sort of stupid, specifically since the woman didn’t seem like a softie. Secondly and more importantly, as they quarantined themselves in their rooms, shouldn’t Edgerton or his wife been able to deduce that their own son unlocked and went into the red room? In the one scene at the dinner table, earlier in the movie, Edgerton had said the door is always locked and he (and his wife) have the only keys. So how would the young child have snuck into their bedroom, taken the key, used it, and all? I wish they did a rewrite on the ending because it was really solid up until that point.[\spoiler]

The Big Sick-I have to watch the last half hour later tonight but it is definitely one of my top 5 movies of last year. Great flick.

I still think the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life was Miss Peregrine's. Holy crap. If you like watching terrible movies, this one is for you. It is just so bad

Good call on both. The circle sucked (and I love Tom Hanks), and yep, he first part of it comes at night was good and the rest sucked. I hate how little explanation you get for anything in that movie.

Tried to watch the new blade runnner. Stopped after about an hour and a half cause I heated it so much.

Currently watching the ballad of lefty brown.

I finally got around to watching Baby Driver. If you like chase scene, and you like good music, and heist movies, absolutely check it out.

I loved that opening clip. Gotta see this. I love Ansel Elgort.

I haven't seen anything that is nominated as best picture for the Oscars. Better get watching.

I dunno.. it almost always disappoints me who wins.. I still can't get over that time No Country for Old Men won over There Will Be Blood.

TWBB was a superior movie imo but NC was very, very good too and it was a little bit of a Coen Bros lifetime achievement award imo.

To me, Crash is the biggest joke of a winner in recent memory. Complete garbage that movie is.

I would agree with all of that. Didn't think about the lifetime achievement award thing but in hindsight that probably sounds about right. It's just so frustrating when they do that though, you should give credit where credit's due.

I much preferred Cronenberg's Crash.
