What's new

Utah Jazz @ Portland Trail Blazers -- Sunday, Feb 11 7pm MST

I think this is my favorite team since I became a religious fan of the team eleven years ago. These guys are just so likable, the chemistry is so high, and the potential is off the ****ing charts. No matter what happens with the playoffs I am leaving this season feeling more positive and hopeful about the franchise then I ever have.

And we making the playoffs. I just looked at our schedule. We have one tough 4 game stretch after the all star break but after that through march we are playing a lot of gravy teams at home. We are gonna feast, boys and girls.

I cant believe some people hated the trade. Crowder is a baller. Tough as nails, and a great fit to our core.

Hood was inconsistent and soft. Great guy, but not someone worth 15 mil per. Great trade by DL to get some value past this season.

Just a faster, less strong version
What I like about this team is flexibility. Outside of a few guys like Rubio and Gobert, most of our players can play multiple positions. No Rubio? Not a problem...Mitchell can play PG. Hood was a 2 - and that was it, whereas Crowder can play 2-4.

There may be a couple of times we'll miss Hood's 3PT shooting, but I'm really liking the team defense. And call me sentimental, but I'm warming to the idea of Favs returning. Between Favs, Thabo and Crowder, maybe we have what we need at the 4.

I still think Donovan is a future PG, but I hope Neto gets the start tonight if Ricky can't go. Still think DM is a better 2 than 1 at this point. Two things he needs to add to his game:

1. Tighter handle against pressure defense. A few guys like Avery Bradley have gotten to him.
2. Better off the dribble 3 point shot. I would go under on the PnR if I am defending him, his off the dribble 3 percentages are way off his catch and shoot.

Once he adds those two, he will be an absolute force.

I would add better consistency staying in front of opposition guards on D. For a guy with his natural gifts he gets shut out of many plays too easily.

Guess I didn't notice. How did it compare to Lyles' rookie season?

The humor and creativity weren’t at trey lyles elite level but the was passion there

Exum is 22, what if him and Mitchell just happen to go together like PB&J and grow awesome together? Is there a chance that the team already has all the players on the roster needed to compete down the road?

Full homer post, but **** it, 9 straight!
It's going to be Rubio and Mitchell.

My thoughts on the game:

- Jae looked good. Nice to see him come in and immediately contribute in a meaningful way. A great way to get your foot in the door.
- Favors has zero lift. Every shot he took was flat/short. I think he may just be broken in an irreparable way.
- Jazz missed Rubio. Would have been really nice to have someone to handle that pressure at the end.
- Jazz keep feeding Gobert and it keeps resulting in turnovers. I think we lost 5-6 possessions that game trying senselessly to feed Gobert in traffic. I wonder if we will ever figure out how/where to get him the ball. Or simply stop forcing it.
- I thought I saw a lot of selfish plays from the Jazz. Mitchell calling his own number, Gobert calling his own number, Jae calling his own number. We won so it doesn't seem like a problem but I think we really need to keep teamwork a priority.
- Dame is stunningly talented. Love watching his individual ability.
- Ingles is ballin. Love it.
