Hot Take on City Uni's

I really like the city uniforms, but I hope we make them really rare in the future. I think we should only break them out a few times a year. Once they become commonplace, I think they will seem less "cool".

I love the green uni's...
They made an entire court to go with them. They rolling that **** out more than a few times a year.

My biggest gripe with the City Uni’s are that they were advertised as a gradient jersey and that didn’t end up being the case. This uniform would be SO MUCH sharper if it was a true gradient where each color seamlessly transitioned to the next.

My 2nd biggest gripe about them is the campaign that David Locke and a handful of Jazz fans are trying to stir up in regards to making these the permanent Jazz colors. No, no, no! There is absolutely NO REASON that a team that plays in Northern Utah should change their colors to something that decidedly have a Southern Utah motif. Just stop it Locke and Co. The Jazz have ****ed around with colors/Uni’s too much in the last 25 years.

Our legacy is the music note with green and gold with blue or purple depending on the era. That’s it. Please don’t mess with it anymore!
They should change it. The new uniform and court is way better than basically anything the Jazz have had, possibly ever.

I think it is important for a franchise to have colors that everyone instantly recognizes, like the Lakers, SA, or Boston. I don't like changing colors each year, and I really like these new uniforms.

Jazz should adopt them as the official uniform. Most unique uniform in the league, and my second favorite behind Miami's.

Every NBA team besides a handful have changed their look so much to the point where I dont think tradition really matters that much in the NBA. With Nike now in the picture it matters even less since every team is going to have two alternates every year, and most will be getting a new one every year along with rotating teams getting a 5th throwback uniform.

Sure it's busy but at least it's not something like a grey uniform with a black and white note. To many uniforms now are two color, boring trash.

I thought they were ugly also until I saw them on the players and with the court. The court with the arch is pure

Being from southern Utah I really like it going away from the old colors with it's roots in New Orleans. I wouldn't mind if it's our next logo and colors.

I wasn't aware of such a movement! Thanks looking into it now. About time we get away from the New Orleans look.

i don't love them personally, but i do love how they match the court, and how the arena looked with the colored shirts. that was fire.

And what is that lame *** northern vs southern Utah take? Who cares where the arena is? When you think of Utah you either think of the beautiful scenery or the whackos who wear magical underwear. We’re the ‘Jazz’ so let’s not get too caught up with semantics. The jerseys are awesome and the best possible representation of the state that we could ask for. I like the yellow jerseys too. I’m bored every time we wear white or blue these days.

What are the "Utah Jazz" colors? Utah brought the name and the colors with them from New Orleans. They've tried the mountain jerseys, black and copper, and powder blue. Nothing wrong with having various alternates.

And yes, these are among the most successful city jerseys in the league. So much so that the NBA is allowing Utah to bring them back for another year.

Nothing wrong with not liking them. But those who don't are in the minority, no matter how loud their protests.

Obviously the fans are voting with their wallets, and it’s overwhelmingly in favor of these City Edition Uni’s. I don’t hate them, but I certainly don’t want to see everything about the franchise changed to revolve around them.

Am I in the minority? Absolutely, and that’s fine. Life has taught me that the masses are usually wrong. Donald Trump is our President, Nickleback has several #1 albums to their credit and the Kardashian’s have one of the highest rated TV shows in the world. But hey, the masses love it, so it’s gotta be a good idea, right?

You’re 100% right. Not wanting Southern Utah landscape to be the basis of the Utah Jazz jerseys on a permanent basis is super “lame”. I can’t wait for the Lakers to start sporting their California Redwoods jerseys or the Knicks to bust out their Rural Farms Of New York City Editions. Those are gonna be straight fire!

I agree with you Jimmy. They are butt ugly and I despise the color scheme. However they are unique and interesting, and still better than the purple mountain jerseys.

After the Jazz win the Championship they're going to unveil a special jersey only worn when we play the Celtics - on the front of the jersey is a picture of both Hayward & Ainge crying.

If they looked good, then.... yea?

The city jerseys look great and they fit Utah. What the hell are you even saying with this comment? Good jerseys are good. Yes I agree.

And for the record, I love the idea behind rotating City Edition jerseys and I think the current one is cool and the matching court is straight up awesome. There’s no denying that the uni’s, court, and color-coded crowd was possibly the coolest atmosphere ever for a 1st round Jazz playoff game. Jazz management absolutely hit that one out of the park.

That being said, instead of hitching our wagon to the first ever City Edition uni in team history, maybe it would be cool just to keep it available as an alternate and see what else Nike comes up with for future Jazz City Editions. Hell, maybe they’ll even come up with a better looking Northern addition that celebrates the mountains and world class ski slopes that encompass the area where the team actually resides.

Me too. I would never wear them but they look cool on the players and with the court. I love he green ones. I think these are ugly but he jazz record in them cannot be denied. I think they have only lost one game in these jerseys.
