NBA SUMMER LEAGUE 2018

Through two games Grayson Allen is averaging 10 PPG, 8 APG and 7 RPG.

He’s been solid on the defensive end tonight as well. There were three possessions in a row where he dove on the floor to tap the ball to his teammate, stole the ball and took a charge.

I have liked what I’ve seen when he has been PG too. He is an underrated playmaker. I want him to put together a full game where he is dishing out assists and knocking down shots.

He has struggled to shoot the ball but that is one of his strengths so I’m not worried about it at all. His shot will start to fall and I think he will shoot a lot better in Vegas.

Overall, I wish he shot the ball better but he is a stat-sheet stuffer (even has a couple of steals). Much more of a playmaker than any of us thought. It’s only two games but I’m definitely excited about him. I can’t wait to see what he does in the upcoming SL games.

We won 48 games last year with Exum only playing 14 games as well as Gobert only playing 56 games. Crowder was added at the trade deadline and played 27 games as well.

A full offseason with Crowder integrated, adding Allen and Exum/Gobert playing at least 75 games — I don’t see why we shouldn’t be pushing for 55-57 wins and the 2 seed in the West. Houston got worse losing Ariza and every other team that made the playoffs either got worse or stayed the same. The Lakers are the only team that got noticeably better enough to matter and they aren’t going to win more games than us.

A 48-win team bringing everyone back and adding Allen and essentially Exum (plus Gobert for 26 more games) is something we should be extremely excited about. Couple that with the 40M+ cap space in 2019 we are set up nicely going forward.

Love Allen’s scrappy play style. He’s also a lot more athletic than I was expecting. His pre-game dunks were fantastic.

Martin was ok. Needs an NBA strength program. Seemed out of shape. Hope he sticks with the Stars. There’s definitely potential there.

Bradley looked winded pretty early on. He did a lot of good things, but he clearly needs another year of development in the G-League. I still think he has potential for down the road.

Diamond Stone seems like a really funny guy. He was one of the dudes messing around in warmups like Jingles does. Big personality, some skill. Hope he sticks with the Stars as well.

Really liked the fire from Kidd and Lewis. Those two brought a lot of energy. Lewis seemed to make it his personal mission to pester Trae Young.

When his feet are set Niang is almost automatic. His stroke reminds me of Scott Padgett a little bit.
If he had Padgett’s rebounding (and Armani suits), then I’d be fully aboard Gorgeous George Express. Hell, if he had some Padgett in him then maybe PKM would come back.
