Grant Jerrett. Marcus Cousin. Othyus Jeffers. Although Blake Ahearn was my first thought, closely followed by Pleiss.Who?
People were hyped on Pleiss, so that's a lot of revisionist history.Grant Jerrett. Marcus Cousin. Othyus Jeffers. Although Blake Ahearn was my first thought, closely followed by Pleiss.
Some were. I know I wasn’t. He’s a guy putting up very unimpressive numbers across the board in Europe and can’t get off the bench behind Tomic. I felt people were trying to rationalize the heap of trash we got for Kanter.People were hyped on Pleiss, so that's a lot of revisionist history.
Regardless of how you felt, there were a lot of people who thought he had legit shot of being a rotation player before he stepped foot on the court. The guy had legit size and was a proven player overseas. Some were. I know I wasn’t. Or you are someone who doesnt enjoy nepotism. Just cuz he was half made out of John Stockton's semen doesnt make me care about him playing basketball. You have to have the heart of a comic book villain if you didn't feel all tingly inside when David Stockton hit a three at Vivint at the end of that Clippers game. Or someone who isn't old enough to remember any Jazz games between '84 and '03.
Perhaps, but we’re talking about a level of subjectivity regarding being “exciting.” That applies to the individual as much as the collective, and I found Pleiss less exciting than Stockton (not to say I was excited about Stockton, per se, but I enjoyed the bridge to the past).Regardless of how you felt, there were a lot of people who thought he had legit shot of being a rotation player before he stepped foot on the court. Everyone knew Stockton would never make the team this upcoming year.
There's also a level of objectivity of realizing the collective conscience of the fan-base. Everyone knew what the Stockton signing was destined for. Pleiss and others where brought in to actually compete for minutes and win a job, Stockton wasnt.Perhaps, but we’re talking about a level of subjectivity regarding being “exciting.” That applies to the individual as much as the collective, and I found Pleiss less exciting than Stockton (not to say I was excited about Stockton, per se, but I enjoyed the bridge to the past).
Sure, but Pleiss sucked and so did a lot of those guys. Anyone else being hyped about him doesn’t change that I wasn’t excited about him and the idea that, despite him being more or less a body on the bench, Stockton’s sentimentality had more excitement than a Kyle Weaver or Malcolm Thomas. There's also a level of objectivity of realizing the collective conscience of the fan-base.
