2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

We need to take some bad contracts and get Winslow from Miami. That team isn't going anywhere and maybe they get inspired by New York's dump.
 
Also... The Knicks wanted to be players for Kyrie, Klay, Kawhi, etc this summer? Yeah no that's not gonna happen. Not a chance in hell lol. Welcome to the land of never ending suck Knicks fans.

NBA Target audience is younger and likes the drama and loves guys like Westbrook, Draymond, boogie, harden, etc, who wears what shoes, and likes the drama of player movement more than the game of basketball.

Fair enough, but you root for a team that plays great fundamental basketball.

Everything else you can either ignore completely, or just follow the news and players you care about. If the kids like the other stuff, that's fine. It's great for the game overall.
 
If we trade Exum+Rubio for Conley I'm cool with the trade. Anything more than that? mehhhh.... We need to keep Favors around to try and trade him for a stretch 4.

Agreed. Unless of course we do a Exum or Rubio and Favors for Conley and Gasol. Gasol has the range to make it work still with Gobert.

He worries me... I think it'd be a three team deal with Ricky and Favs... think we'd keep Exum. The guard/wing creator is harder and more expensive to fix than the stretch 4 problem imo... Like we could get Rudy Gay for MLE or something along those lines and get 85-90% of the benefit of having a stretch 4.
 
You guys realize Dallas has to pay $40 million next year for THJ, Lee and KP right?

There is a reason why expirings have so much value.

You just have to have the balls to take back bad contracts.

No one realized that... We have the balls to take back bad deals... you may not like the ones we get doe.
 
I agree with NOLA, they shouldn't trade Jrue. With AD trade you can get a boatload of assets who can probably help compete now (Taum/Smart/Picks and have high future upside. Why trade Jrue as well unless you get a Godfather offer. They need to stay relevant as possible to stay in New Orleans and for everyone to keep their job.

Or at least wait until draft time when you might get a premium asset if you do in fact decide to rebuild. they have zero reason to rush a Jrue trade... even if he requested one... he's under contract for forever.

The other thing that confuses an old dude like myself is that people "play" sports as the GM of a team and simulate the actual games.
