2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Woj says of Gasol and Conley, he thinks Gasol more likely to move.

In terms of the long-term build, replacing Rubio for Lowry wouldn't be that bad. We could be players in 2020 again if we really wanted to. The ultimate goal here is to acquire a third star before Mitchell and Gobert get their next contracts.

Woj thinks us and Memphis will interact more.

Lowry has really fallen off this year. Not really an upgrade over Rubio.

Dedmon would be a nice pickup if we could get him. So would Ellington.

Jazz dont have rotation minutes for another guard.

Dedmon would be great if we trade Favors. He'd be a better backup 5 than Udoh, or at least against most matchups.

Memphis want Dante but jazz say they aren't trading Dante. I think Memphis want Dante more than Ricky tbh. Look I think for dantes career if he and favors went to Memphis together. I think that will be good for dantes and derricks careers tbh. Dante will start straight away and he and favors have a great combination. And they have jjj. Great destination for Dante and derrick.

Lowry would have to be a three team deal where Conley goes to Toronto and we get Lowry right... but what is Toronto giving that is helpful there? Are we giving the same package? Is it the Gasol for JV swap that the Grizz want.

This whole thing is weird.

I don't think acquiring Lowry is a great idea but I love watching him play so I'd be cool with it... dude is a monster. His raw numbers don't tell the story.

Then what will they do if they use Favors to match Conley's salary? We're thin at that position, and they're definitely planning to bring some else in.
He doesn't help replace Favors as backup C. If it's Favors traded instead of Udoh, Sef and other pieces then Sef and Udoh become the backups till the off season.

I actually think we should just keep Ricky on the bench and trade Exum for Conley. That'd be a nice luxury.

Dude - the glamour market excuse doesn’t fly anymore. Those guys wanted out because team management was a disgrace. Not because of the location itself. And half of your examples are pre internet and social media. Interesting you didn’t mention PG to OKC. OKC! The most glamorous market in the country...

See if Kawhi stays in Toronto, a well put together contender in the East. You saw what he did in San Antonio last year, and that's a model franchise that had just pushed the Warriors in the WCF.
See if Anthony Davis insists on LA or NY when it's said and done.
See if Kyrie goes from Boston (a solid franchise) to New York (one of the worst-run franchises in the league).
Paul George asked Indiana to trade him and said he wanted LA before he found a home with Russell Westbrook in OKC. He's a rare exception.
Hayward was the man and an All Star on the Jazz, but he left to get more exposure in Boston.

Exum and Favors and a first for Conley.

Sefolosha, Bradley and Neto for Niko.

Conley / Rubio
Donovan / O'Neale
Ingles / Korver
Niko / Crowder
Gobert / Udoh

Lowry this season is the ultimate "stats don't tell the full story" guy. The Raptors were pretty meh when Lowry missed a stretch of games and the Raptors offense boiled down to Kawhi ISO play after play.

The bigger problem with a potential Lowry trade is that I just can't think of a deal that makes sense for the Raptors unless they're really keen to get him off the team for some reason. They're firmly in win now mode and I don't think giving them Rubio/Favors for Lowry makes them better.

A pissed off and spurned Kyle Lowry would be pretty fun.
