Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

Solid, maybe. But I’m not sure he’s even worth his rookie-scale salary, and “solid” is a far-cry from “love”.

We are living in the dusk of the ballhandler that can’t shoot. It almost doesn’t matter how good you are if you’re not a big and can’t hit an open shot consistently or confidently.

I agree here. Shooting is likely the single most important offensive skill a player can have.

I like Keldon Johnson. I think he’s a guy you shuttle back-and-forth from the G-League to give him a soft landing and place where he can develop his game.

that's another one I think that has a little higher upside. In general draft - guys that are wings, guys that can shoot, or guys that are really really unique bigs. It's all kinda a crap shoot... take chances on those types.

The thing I would want to know is if he’s a hard-worker outside of an in-game scenario. If he’s a worker, I like his chances at developing into a real nice player.

Can't help ya much there... I think the off court stuff is pretty positive on him. You generally only hear if they are amazing like DM or trouble.

Boston had a workout today with NAW, Porter Jr., Horton-Tucker, Herro and Dort. Maybe we'll get some of those guys in.

He definitely is. Dude can't shoot at all. But his passing, rebounding and defense not only make him worth the rookie scale salary but easily more.

Lonzo Ball is one of the most polarizing players that I have ever heard NBA fans talk about. His stans act like he's God and his haters act like he's total trash. Neither are right. He's a solid NBA player with very clear weaknesses.

Some of the biggest attributes I would look for are first

- does he enjoy playing basketball. Some kids play because they have to and they burn out when it becomes a job.

- gym rat. Ate they first and last to leave. Those players stick around and some succeed.

- do they take plays off. That is something that scares me. I have read samanic can.

- do they try on defense. I have said this before defense is first about effort. Some players dont even give effort.

- is their shot broken. I dont want a markel fultz where he has to be fixed

He needs to land in a high-paced transition offense... I hope for his sake he doesnt fall to Utah..

He qualifies as a "warlord wing" which i've been calling for for many years tho. Fans and players like Rudy and Mitchell would appreciate his hustle.

Dort is a guy who I knew about, and posted about here, before he ever left Canada...

I've jumped off the ship... I can't understand why ppl would want him here, unless they completely have given up on Grayson already.

I do tons for sleuthing across the west-coast, for an east-coast guy, you know this...

He is simply IMO, a much, much ******** version of Baron Davis, and i stress much. He's got talent, but it's simply one, i feel very comfy in saying he's not 1st rd material... I keep track of these guys for years for stories exactly like this TBPH... This one, i think the footage speaks for itself, i feel like i've sniffed it out early.

I truly believe he is FAR too risky for Utah to consider at that spot..

Like I've said every year about the picks in the early 20's, what you look for is a late-lotto guy to fall, like Hood, OR Gobert..... I used to say Rudy looked like he had lotto talent back in the day!

Utah would love to have Lonzo Ball as their starting PG. Y'all are crazy if you say otherwise, it wouldnt be worth the cost obviously, but he is a very good defender and a spectacular passer. Obviously overdrafted. I had De'Aaron Fox #1 on my board preseason that year!!!
