Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

Do you have a link to his podcast?

So Sacramento gets Jae Crowder for Bjelica, a better overall player for a guy we could have pursued in free agency, and moves up 17 draft slots too? That's pretty bad. Jae Crowder and #23 should enable the Jazz to move up to 16 or so to draft Nickeil or PJ Washington. Who does he like at #40?

I would take HArrison BArnes off their hands

yep... Locke is preparing us for the Jazz to trade their 1st round pick for players that won't be able to stay on the floor in a playoff game. This is where the Jazz are at...:mad:

I'll be happy if the Jazz trade their pick. They should've done it last year when they fell in love with Grayson Allen. Most mocks had him about 10 spots lower than the Jazz drafted him before news leaked they wanted to draft him.

Locke is a moron. How much does Bjelly weigh right now? seemed to me like he was pushing 260 last season.

He's basically a backup C at this point...

Joerger's usage of Bjelly surely was one of the reason he was fired in Sacramento despite a massive outperforming year.

That deal would be a spectacular win for the Kings... They dont even need Bjelly anymore...

For Utah it'd be another wasteful move in line with the Hill and Rubio trades. more long-term sacrifice for futile upfront petty victories

CBS mock has us picking the Washington wing that averaged 9.6 ppg with the 1st round pick and the 5'11" LSU point guard with the 2nd round pick for what it's worth.

I really hope we trade the pick instead of doing what Locke is saying. On his pod today he said he'd really consider drafting a backup center...like Kabengele even with his knee problems since he's 22 and can play right away. Also likes Ty Jerome. Afterwards, he brought up Okpala because he can play multiple positions and Carsen Edwards because he can play the Van Vleet role. Said he has heard that many teams have Langford off of their boards.

I'd be willing to trade back in the draft and take whomever is available between Bazley, Samanic, Paschall and Okpala. A couple of those guys will be there in the 30s.

Espn new mock has us taking Okpala at 23. Paschall goes 24. Has us taking Zach Norvell at 53. Kevin Porter Jr 27.

Utah could use more depth at the forward spots, making Okpala interesting here.

Okpala had a late start to basketball, and he is raw in terms of his strength and understanding of the game. However, his physical tools are impressive, and the flashes he has shown as a slasher, defender and perimeter shooter make him worth a long-term investment.

The Jazz badly need length and athleticism in the front court. So if we're drafting based on need, those two guys are both attractive. Okpala would be in line to replace Sefalosha.

The Jazz interviewed Nas Little at the Combine. That's enough for me to make up a sleeper theory that the Jazz are going to try to trade up to get him in the draft.

From Shams in the Athletic

Sources said North Carolina forward Nassir Little’s draft range likely begins with the Hawks at No. 8, but the Bulls (No. 7) are expressing an increased interest in trying to bring Little in for a workout ahead of Thursday’s draft. There had been questions about Little’s 3-point shooting in his freshman season at UNC, where Little shot 26.9 percent on under two attempts per game. But several lottery teams said that Little squashed any concerns during his shooting in pre-draft workouts.

Nas Little would potentially add some "edge" to the squad. He is, in spades, what I've been calling for for years here, one of these mauling wings.

He's plenty big enough to play the PF spot next to Rudy too which adds a nice wrinkle of bullyball.

I dont have him crazy high on my board but still I think he'd be a match here. Monster on the boards. He has a very quick first step too. Great motor, ultra competitive.
