No, as has been said to you twice now, a "detention center" is where you put people who have done something to merit detention. When was the last time going to detention was something done to a person who had done nothing wrong?

They are not death camps, because no one is being deliberately killed. They are concentration camps.

Ok. You convinced me. Now do you feel like I'm more willing to look for solutions than I was before? Since I agree with you? Which by the way I never really fully disagreed with you. I said they were deplorable and need to be eliminated, but convincing me over the course of what, 3 or 4 pages, was more important than discussing what could be done. Never had my point made more clearly for me on JF ever before.

Polish MP Tarcynski Dominik has invited US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to visit Poland following her remarks in which she compared migrant detention camps on the United States’ southern border to Nazi-era “concentration camps” during an Instagram Live with her followers on Monday.

I hope she accepts the invite.


I'm not saying the border detention facility isn't a terrible place to be or doesn't need a huge improvement.

I'm saying they're not anything near as bad as the the Nazi's concentration camps and saying so is a slap in the face of its history.

I'm not saying the border detention facility isn't a terrible place to be or doesn't need a huge improvement.

Many of the people in there have done nothing illegal, so it's not a detention facility.

I'm saying they're not anything near as bad as the the Nazi's concentration camps and saying so is a slap in the face of its history.

Since Ocasio-Cortez never mentioned Nazi concentration camps, that's a moot point.

I’m with Zombie on this one. Those camps are a national disgrace and will go down in history exactly like the “internment camps” we stuck Asians into in WW2. What a massive failure to live up to the idea of America.

2) She never said the world was ending in 12 years.

So, since she did not say that, my opinion on their truth has no effect on whether she lied.

I never said that. Again you are grasping at straws and putting words in my mouth. I said I think this argument is counterproductive and that was the primary reason she used that term. And that I think purposefully using inflammatory language is seldom the best way to get to a solution. I even expressed I was probably biased in that assertion because of my work experience.

But hey if you grasp at enough straws eventually you can still call yourself the most rational guy in the room, since that is the title you covet most.
