Kavanaugh Back in the News

Next time I go to a job interview I'm going to demand my potential employer prove that I am a felon or else they must hire me.

Agreed.

It’s interesting that those whining about “process” seem to have forgotten Merrick Garland. What about his “due process?” Moscow Mitch wouldn’t even let the senate debate confirming him. But I guess process only matters sometimes.

You mean, when people accuse Hillary Clinton of corruption? Go on, say that because of your deep belief in due process, Hillary is innocent of any criminal activity in your eyes.

Last I checked, he was still a SCOTUS justice, with all the power and prestige that entails. How horrible.

You mean, as opposed to all the allegations of sexual assault right-wingers take seriously?

Yeah, I think it has been proven a lot of the scandalous things Hillary is guilty of.

When it comes to sexual assault allegations you are looking at two possible scenarios. There is a victim one way or the other. The person being accused may actually be the victim. So yes, Im glad you pointed out that right wingers think about both possible scenarios and consider that the true victim might actually be the other person, so they expect due process to uncover the truth before jumping to conclusions. Something the left hasnt figure out how to do. Why? Because principles and morals. You either truly care about other people or just enjoy watching other people burn for the sake of making yourself feel good.

You arent even close to an apples to apples comparison. Its more like you got the job and someone who doesnt like you sends an email to your boss and says you assaulted someone 30 years ago, but they have no proof. Should your boss fire you immediately without considering your side of the story?

Of course. Not one person on this board expected you to behave consistently regarding the notions of "due process". You lived down to everyone's expectations.

The person who makes an accusation is always a victim. Whether the assault happened or not, the accuser faces people who call them liars, hurtful, vengeful, insane, and/or many other things. So, when there is a false accusation, there are two victims.

Because the left understands how your attitude, which was the prevailing attitude for thousands of years, makes actual victims of assault into victims a second time, and also lets actual rapists off the hook. The consequences of reporting an actual rape are already horrific, which means false accusations are very rare.

Here is an example of what a happens when your notions are followed.

Please, go on about how letting rapists get away with rape (which is the result of the process you uphold) is a good example of your "principles and morals".

I really love it when posters throw a fit when they think you aren't answering their questions (even if you do!), and then completely disappear when they get asked a direct question in return.

Haha. Ok. I see

I am victim. I am a victim of all the vitriol and hurtful things said by you and everyone else. Which makes you a victimizer. A perpetrator, a predator, and a beast.

So the false accuser is a victim? Got it. I have to say I am actually not surprised. Nothing the left says anymore is surprising. And you are like a perfect sample of what the left is. If I need to take the temperature I just need to ask you a question. I'll give you props for being crazy before the rest went crazy. You were selling this stuff long before anyone else on here I can remember. Bravo on successfully helping spread the message.

Isnt it the left who loves to help rapists and murders get out of prison? I dont think that is a characteristic of the right. The right has a pretty good record of punishing the rapists.

Yes, the entitlement to an answer to a loaded question. It's a thing. A really really annoying and pathetic thing.

Some posters just have some weird sense of entitlement, like their mommy never stopped babying them or something.

I don't like Kavanaugh. He is a tool of the right-wing. But I do think that all this attention on what he did when he was a stupid college kid is ridiculous. There were other reasons to disqualify him but instead the Dems went after this salacious stuff that doesn't apply to the mature person. It's just like Russiagate and the Muellar investigation, all bogus b.s. There are plenty of other reasons to justify Trump's impeachment yet they go after something that is difficult to prove. It's as if they really don't want to impeach him. I hate both sides of the mainstream political spectrum: DNC and Right-wing Republicans, while having different political views, are birds of feather. Both corrupt groups who care little for the welfare of our nation or its people.

If you were actually hurt, and not trolling, sure.

I find no insult in you calling me crazy. Yes, it's entirely possible for false accusers to be victimized. Yes, people can be both oppressor and victim. I don't suffer from a need to have rigid categorizations.

The right has a pretty good record of denying that rapists are guilty, and of blaming the victims for being raped. The left is somewhat better on this issue, and better than it was 25 years ago, but far from being good on it.

There is a huge difference between Congress taking advantage of the ability to delay a vote in order to prevent a nomination and political enemies slandering someone's reputation. Or did I somehow miss the horrible and unsubstantiated claims that the Republicans were throwing out about Garland?

Stay on target- this is about "due process." Merrick Garland didn’t even get a chance to make his case in front of the senate, meanwhile Kavanaugh is doing just fine, holding one of the most powerful positions in the country.

Oh, I didn't realize I was supposed to let you twist examples to fit your narrative no matter what sort of mental gymnastics that takes. The fact is, these two cases are not the same at all.

Considering the "process" we are talking about here is the nomination of a justice to the Supreme Court, it's as good a comparison as there is. You just don't like it because it demonstrates your hypocrisy on the issue.

I'm a hypocrite in your eyes for being able to see the massive differences between these two situations (including process differences)? I guess I can live with that.

It's a message forum, dude. Don't put too much into it. Sometimes I respond multiple times a day, sometimes I go MIA for days and sometimes I don't respond because I know there's no point.

For sure, but this isn't about you. That was a JazzyFresh callout.

I seem to remember you taking part in a thread calling out a poster, not sure why you have a problem with this.
Are you talking about the Joe Rogan thread? Then hell yeah. I put all I got on calling out Harambe. I don't care to be remembered, I'm not.

Joe Rogan and his guests are. :)
