Open Enrollment - Let's All Complain

No we don't. I have been sick as **** for 3 months straight and haven't been to the doctor cause it's too expensive. Haven't missed a day of work either (been working overtime the entire time actually). Been paying that premium every week though.

That's not the best

Dannon’s plan is that bad? You can’t go to the doctor, pay a small copay (mine is $15 and for some reason, $0 at urgent care) and then pay for a script should the dr write you one?

When you say expensive, how much are you talking?

The plan I'm on I have to pay 100% of everything until I hit 3,000 dollars and then insurance pays 80% after that. No Co pays.
There is the option for me to go with a different plan that is similar to yours but then I have to pay a much higher premium each week from my paycheck to have that plan.

Oh and I ****ed up my hip last Saturday and have been in pain and walking with a limp ever since. **** going to the doctor though. Just gonna keep walking it off and hope it heals itself.

Okay, so i just looked.

I pay just under $7,000 a year for my family’s medical. Doesn’t matter how many how children I have. Could have 1, could have 7. It would still be $7,000. This includes dental too. It used to be better but, well, with states all having major deficits, and bs bidding processes for major jobs in our state (and I suspect most) raping the states fiscally, and state employees double dipping, and the people who run the states being unable to manage money responsibly, and the need to subsidize those who’ve done nothing to better their lives, well, we’re at a major deficit and thus, I now pay much more than I used to.

My copay is $15. My script cost depends on the drug but is typically cheap as hell and less than $15. My deductible is $400 for my family.

How much more would you have to pay per week?

Like 60 or 70 bucks or something.
Edit: actually it's only like 53 bucks more per paycheck.
I need that 200-250 dollars per month though cause I live paycheck to paycheck.

Also, @fishonjazz Do you have any sort of a pension there and if so, how decent is it and how long have you worked there?
I do have a pension but it stopped growing at the beginning of last year.
I have worked here about 16.5 years.
When I retire I should get about 537 dollars per month from my pension. Unless they let us cash it out in which case I would probably use it to buy a rental property .

Ugh. Why did it stop growing?

How many more years do you plan on working?

Because our Union is spineless and union leadership made up of the very stupidest people at our plant.

Mine as well. We’re going on two years without a contract. We should get retro (we always have) which for me would be big because that would be about 7K after taxes coming to me as of now. But my gripe is about our union leaders. Idiotic children, bickering with BOE members and top admin, in all staff emails. Allowing all the provisions other than salaries to be ratified separately last summer in what was a handshake agreement. ****ing idiots. Our BoE and top admin are some of the most ignorant, self-serving scum on the planet. And I blame our union, who knows these people are scum, for being dumb enough to agree to this handshake agreement. We, the staff, gave up some fairly major **** in those provisions, which we now have to adhere to, despite not getting a raise in nearly two years and the wheels continuing to spin on our salaries. I also blame current principals near retirement who don’t have the balls to expose what is said in closed door meetings with our superintendent and asst super.

Because in the last Union contract the pension was shut down.

If I'm being honest I think I will probably work until I die...... If I'm lucky.
