Coronavirus

You often complain that nobody will engage with you in good faith. Too often I respond to your messages to expand on the discussion with a level of professional expertise, as I did in the post above this, and yet you just continue to plow along on auto-pilot. It's honestly like trying to engage with @Utah Jazz Newsfeed.

My dear, young, naive infection,

I am disappointed that you have chosen to forsake your better judgment and your extensive message board training. Survival on JazzFanz is relatively simple if you just follow three basic rules:
1) Don't post pics with naughty bits, and absolutely no swears
2) Avoid defending or praising Andrei Kirilenko
3) Never attempt serious discussion with TuffTiger/O Gatinho/The Thriller

As far as exercises in futility are concerned, the last point is the futil-iest. It's much more enjoyable and rewarding to simply sit back and watch the show. Tell me if you can guess who I'm describing here:

- Fiercely partisan
- Favors soundbites over analysis
- Seeks bias-confirming tweets and shares/likes them; considers every anecdote as an "aha!" proof of fact
- Ignores evidence; shouts it down with more of the above
- Calls for open debate, then shuts it down when confronted with sensible attempts to open dialogue, either with:
- "If you don't like what I'm saying, then just stop listening to me" OR
- "You're not worth responding to"
- Demeans anyone who would dare oppose his view, often using grade-school level uncreative nicknames
- Rampant use of know-it-all, condescending sentence openers such as "Listen" and "Folks"
- Quantity over quality
- Loudness over substance
- Doesn't quite have the following he thinks he has: half of the people roll their eyes at him; his own base is embarrassed by him
- Thinks that people take him seriously
- Has never been wrong
- Glories in suffering of others so long as it proves his point
- Either has a poor understanding of math, or an impressive mastery of manipulative statistics
- Invents enemies; persecution complex
- Views every discussion, no matter how benign or innocent, as an opportunity to insert political jabs
- Spends way too much time online; one wonders when he has time to do his actual job
- Despite a long record of unprofessional personal attacks, still manages to not get impeached...err...banned

Thriller IS the person who he purports to hate the most. Call it what you will (Alanis might insist that it's ironic), but for me it's pure entertainment.

Stay safe, my padawan. Take care of my sheep while I'm gone. Always remember, Harpring Sucks.

love,
bordy

Bordy for president.

annnndddd BINGO. I was right. No wonder why he’s pumping this drug so much. He’s trying to profit off the pandemic.

imagine the outrage if email woman had done this.

So just to add more detail.

Trump has between $1000 and $15000 in a mutual fund. Said mutual fund is 2.9% Sanofi.

This equals out to Trump "owning" $49-$450 worth of stock in Sanofi. Trump is a billionaire.

Let's be logical, please.

I would agree - I have mutual funds and couldn't tell you all the companies they invest in. I don't care - I just want them to show green vs. red and overall growth.

If a person wants to hit up Trump for something, there's binders full of other stuff vs. trivial things like this.

And Sanofi is not licenced to sell in the US, but BINGO Boy does not care about any of that because the only thing that matters to him is somehow getting Trump.

Well... Well... Well... Look what we have here folks!

Masks are now recommended by THE FIRST LADY.

Only a couple of months and thousands of deaths too late IMO.

unless you’re a medical/hospital worker the use of masks is wildly debatable. To say that US citizens not wearing masks cost thousands of lives is unsubstantiated waffle OL

very few ppl in Aust and NZ swear masks. Have a look at our statistics

how did wearing masks work out for the probably 40,000 dead in Wuhan ??

You've gotta take other things the government is doing into consideration as well.

In NZ the government has been on the front foot and was the first country IIRC to impose the strict rules requiring all people entering the country to self quarantine for 14 days and then imposing the strict lockdown, Australia following NZ's example and they're doing very well compared to other countries.

CNN just did an article about how well NZ is doing and what other countries could do to follow the example.

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/09/asia/new-zealand-lessons-intl-hnk/index.html

If those very strict rules weren't imposed from the beginning then wearing masks would have been a lot more important.

Lol dude cmon. We set our own path. Your PM has gone for short term glory and NZ wil pay the price in months to come. Masks are irrelevant unless you’re a medical worker

OK you're inside a lift with a guy coughing & sneezing, neither you or him are wearing a mask. Covid 19 is prevalent.

Real talk - would you not rather him wear a mask?

I wouldn’t be in a lift during this time that we’re socially distancing. Problem solved

Uh if he’s coughing and sneezing he’s not coming in for an appointment
Plus people in most developed countries cover up when they cough and sneeze. If you're sick stay home. Don't put a mask on and galavant all around thinking a mask makes it okay. If you're not sick still don't ****ing sneeze or cough on or in the direction of people.

You don't get it, with Covid 19 if you're infected you may not show any symptoms for up to 14 days and sometimes you don't have any symptoms at all.

In that case you could have someone coming in who looks perfectly fine, and sneeze, even if he/she was quick enough to cover up there's a chance droplets are dispersed in the air, in an office, in a subway, etc.

It's amazing to me that a medical professional such as yourself cannot see that it's much better to have people wear masks as a precaution.

Droplets can disperse when speaking, also through inadvertent sneezing or coughing.

Dude wtf re you on about. I’m talking about walking around the streets here. In a medical setting is of course an entirely different topic. I’m talking about recommending the general public walking around with masks on everywhere. Here it’s still not suggested, because we need them for medical professionals

and I’m not a dentist. What an insult
