On the radar: 2012 Draft Class

Cal's teams always mesh well. I believe that's mainly due to telling the kids the truth upfront and making no promises as to playing time, etc. The team is too deep and has too much talent to have any player put up big (much less, gaudy) numbers this year ... aside from Davis' blocks. Having said that;

Jones will get to showcase more versatility on the perimeter this year. 15pts, 8rbs, 1.5blks
Davis will be unstoppable, even as a freshman and will shatter UK's all-time season shot-blocking record. 14pts, 9rbs, 4blks
Gilchrist will start the year as the 6th man (behind senior Darius Miller) and will earn starting spot at around game 12. 8pts, 6rbs, 1.5blks
Teague will make freshman mistakes, but no one can stay in front of him and he'll have all the options* to dish. 10pts, 6asts, 3to
*Davis and Jones down low as well as Lamb (48% from 3 last year) and Miller (44% from 3 last year) .. PG's dream.

The UK/UNC game will be epic this December. To be lottery picks and 1st rounders in that game (within next two drafts);
Davis (UK)
Jones (UK)
Gilchrist (UK)
Teague (UK)
Wiltjer (UK)
Lamb (UK)
Barnes (UNC)
Zeller (UNC)
Henson (UNC)
McAdoo (UNC)
Bullock (UNC)
Marshall (UNC)

You realize you will probably be crushed right? Carolina should be awesome this year. They might be able to beat some NBA teams this year. :) Duke will get a pounding of it life as well. By the way Carolina has another player from Wilmington, NC so watch out.

If Gilchrist only averages those kind of numbers, do you really see him entering the 2012 draft? Oh, and thanks for the reply.

Ha, I am realistic that UNC has more talent/experience (not in that order) in early December. PLEASE beat dUKe by 100+.
In March? We'll see.

I see Gilliie entering the draft, yes. I think his early season numbers will dumb-down what he ultimately averages .. scouts all know him, personally .. and love him. He'll go pro and be a good one.

Good to hear. Maybe his "dumbed-down" stats will push him down into the 7-10 range and he ends up in a Jazz uniform :)

Very good. Kind of stunk that Barnes did not come out, but jeez Carolina is loaded. Two guard is a bit weak though. Hope Hairston is the real deal. Would be quite happy if Teague is the real deal and ends up on the Jazz.

How do you guys see UConn v. UNC v. Kentucky shaking out?

North Carolina has the most experience/talent mix.
UK has the most overall talent (NBA) but lacks the experience of UNC.
UConn has a decent mix, a lot of talent, but I see them under-performing expectations (largely because Kemba's gone, Lamb is overrated, and Drummond has a lot of question marks / including whether he'll be cleared to play.)

UNC, UK, Ohio State, and UConn (in the order) with Vandy (believe it or not), Syracuse, and a few others a step back.

Agree with everything you said, except I don't think Lamb is that overrated. I'm very intrigued by him; can't wait to see what he's like with Walker out of the picture.

Fair enough about Lamb. I'm not at all down on him, I just don't like when players skyrocket up the rankings based on about 10 games. Let's see if he can keep up with the final 1/3 of last year.

MSU is going to wreck UK this year.

You'll have to try harder than that, ha. Your baiting is seriously lacking lately.

This was a really funny moment during the campout for Big Blue Madness tickets. Every evening the coaching staff and players go out to hang with those camping for tickets and show gratitude. Anyway, there was one of 'those' fans that kept taunting the players to take him on for just one possession. All the players laughed it off until he got into Anthony Davis' face (or belly button, actually).

Kid was drinking and was serious about being able to do something, talking a big game "ONE POSSESSION, C'MON!!!" ..
Result.

Not joking. MSU has a pretty good team. Good recruiting class coming in. Good junior transfer 6'11 PF coming from UTEP. Dee Bost senior year, and maybe, just maybe, Renardo Sidney won't be a fat *** this year.

Ohhhh, thought you were referring to Michigan State.

Renardo Sidney was an idiot. So much freakin potential and his handlers gave him the big head before he could handle .. and it went to his gut. Shame.
Dee Bost as a senior is a very nice PG .. not first round good, but mid to late 2nd round good .. but a better college PG than the draft will reflect.
I do like the Moultrie kid from UTEP.
I also like Hood, though I think he'll need to gain some weight/strength to be an effective starter (maybe not?).

Summary: No, the bulldogs will not wreck UK this year. UK is better at EVERY position, the bench, and coaching. I do like the bold prediction though .. you a bulldog fan? (most wouldn't know as much as you do about such an insignificant team).

Child please. MSU almost beat UK with the Great Wall in the SEC Title Game.

I hate that too. Like I think Lamb is listed at #6 on nbadraft.net's consensus mock draft by users. I mean, seriously? SIXTH in the most loaded draft in years? Wow...

His stats for the YEAR;

28 minutes
11 points
4.5 rbds
79.7% FT
36.8% from 3

6th? 6th! I need to see waaaaaaay more from a 2G.

I recognize no one asked, but my early (very) lottery prediction (not trying to anticipate who stays another year in college);

1. Andre Drummond
2. Anthony Davis
3. Harrison Barnes
4. Jared Sullinger (though I think he'll be considered over-drafted)
5. Austin Rivers (I think he's over-hyped right now, but will kill it this year and demand a top 5 pick)
6. James McAdoo
7. Brad Beal
8. Quincy Miller (all depends on how hard he plays, betting he puts it together)
9. Perry Jones
10. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
11. Marquis Teague
12. Terrence Jones
13. Jeremy Lamb
14. Myck Kabongo
Sleeper: Tony Wroten
