Clipps-Nuggz Gm 7 Discussion

In his defense, if LeBron was 0-4 in Game 7's, what would the narrative be? I think that's his main point although it's not all Conley's fault that he's 0-4 in Game 7's.
well, let's do a more thorough research and count all the "win or go home" games in Conley's career, shall we?

In 2011,
G6 versus Thunder, trail 2-3, win or go home
Conley shot 3 for 12, luckily Z-bo dropped 30+13 in a Memphis win

G7 versus Thunder, tied 3-3, win or go home
Conley shot 7 for 19 in a Memphis loss.

2012
G5 versus Clippers, trail 1-3, win or go home
Conley shot 4 of 10 for 9 points, luckily Gasol/Z-bo combined for 42 pts in a Memphis win.

G6, trail 2-3, win or go home
Conley 4 for 9, Gasol/Z-bo again came up big for the grizz and scored 41 pts to force a G7.

G7 vesus Clippers, tied 3-3
Conley shot 2-13 for 7 pts, Memphis lost

2013
G4 versus Spurs, trail 0-3. Win or go home
Conley 4-13 for 9pts in a Spurs sweep.

2014
G7 versus Thunder, win or go home
Conley 8 for 14 in a Memphis loss.

2015
G6 versus Warriors, trail 2-3, win or go home
Conley 3-13 for 11pts in yet another Memphis loss.

2017
G6 versus Spurs, trail 2-3, win or go home.
Conley again shot 7-18 and Memphis lost.

2020
G7 versus Nuggets
Conley 2-13 for 8points.

To sum it up, Conley shoots 44/134=32% in season defining games for his teams in the playoffs. none of the teams that beat Conley were the eventual champion of that season. 2012 Clippers didn't even sniff the Conference Final's floor

You can call it "statistically insignificant" all you want. Not sure how much those Grizz fans spending years of frustrations watching one playoff exit after another would agree with you. not to mention had Conley even shot 3-13 we would've beat Denver in G7, but he just couldn't hit that one damn extra field goal.

Only if you promise to focus only on shooting, and not on other contributions.

You don't think Conley's 12 assists had anything to do with Randolph's points?

G7 versus Thunder, tied 3-3, win or go home
Conley shot 7 for 19 in a Memphis loss.

With 6 assists and 5 rebounds. He was doing a little of everything that night.

6 assists that night. Odd how Randolph keeps getting "lucky" on nights Conley's assists are up.

9 assists that night.

A genuinely bad overall game.

I stopped there. So far, Conley significantly helped his team in 3 of the 4 games.

does Conley make any other contribution at this point? defense? rebounding? he playmakes a bit but our offensive rating actually drops from 120 to 115 with him on the floor.

So, you think you can prove your point by changing your claim in the middle of the discussion?

how did i change my claim? did Conley choke in big games or did he not?

speaking of "statistically insignificant". you actually believes that his contribution from elsewhere makes up for his disastrous shooting?

Bricky Rubio says "hello?"

What stats supports your claim anyways? offensive rating? defensive rating? win shares? RPMs?

What part of "our offensive rating drops with Conley on the floor" do you not understand?

How many fans/critics were critical of Paul George/Kawhi when they shot so poorly last night?

Did you not give them **** for the choke job they've done against the nuggets?

But hey, they both had done some solid defensive work on Jerami Grant/Torrey Craig and had good rebounding numbers!

He did not. He did seem to focus more on setting up his team mates.

I don't recall offering any opinion on that. I just pointed out you were, and still are, making a silly and innumerate argument.

As long as Conley is on the Jazz, I'll say good things about him unless he pulls a Kanter.

My claim that your argument was silly and innumerate? Basic statistical knowledge. I don't recall making other claims in this discussion.

What part of "injured for most of the season" don't you understand?

I'm often not a member of groups identified by "many fans".

Conley deserves criticism for his poor shooting performances in big games and that is that. Kawhi had 6 assists + 6 rebs last night but still got *****ed on because of his ****** shooting. Give me a reason that fans/critics shouldn't have done the same with Conley. Well just because you are a Jazz fan and you don't wanna be so critical towards your own players?

You are welcome to be as silly and innumerate as you choose to be.

I don't see why that's relevant to your innumeracy, or why I should care.
go on.

talk ****, change topic, do what you wanna do.
But...

Conley choked. And the entire basketball world knows it.

PERIOD.

0 true pg's on the clips roster doomed them in this series. the 4th quarter in game 7 by the clips was an abomination, and honestly an extremely poor showcase of quality playoff basketball.

Doc Rivers is a choke artist.

go on.

talk ****, change topic, do what you wanna do.

I have stayed completely on my topic of the innumeracy of your argument. You're the one bringing in completely different players in different games and appealing to popular commentary to justify your innumeracy.

Gosh, if you type it in all caps, it must be true. [/sarcasm]

Lakers will drain the Nuggets in 5 — my prediction. They’ll then drain the Heat in 6. Happy for Lebron tbh

Not really a thread for this, but hard not to kind of like this Heat team.
If I didn’t have a team I’d choose them for sure. Jimmy deserves his success. He’s been in pure garbage situations since the end of the good Bulls teams and gets **** on because he doesn’t put up with the bull **** of bad teams.

People have been belly-aching about Kawhi in the 2011 draft, but god damn should we have gotten Butler and I was VERY loud about that.
