Spida’s Ankle

This all started with the jazz losing game 1 to Memphis. DM was probably gonna sit as long as the series wasn't tied or we were down. Everyone gave the medical staff **** but they knew... Just think, we had 6 days off between Round 1 and 2 and DM ankle still gave out.

If Conley is healthy we are up 3-2 at worst and saying if only DM was healthy it could be over and we get a few days before the sun's series.

Now the sun's are pulling for us in game 6. The sun's don't care who they play, It's all about buying time for CP3 at this point. Lets see they get a shell of the jazz who they have dominated before with No Conley or DM. Or home court against the Clippers with no Kawhi..

They kill us in 4 games in our current state of health. They beat the Clippers in 5 maybe 6 since the Clippers are on fire right now.

Yeah it’s at an end at this point regardless. I think if the Jazz staff had their say he would have probably rested a few games, maybe pulled back on minutes a touch, but he was “cleared” by his wonderful personal medical staff.

At this point DM is not going to be the DM we need in order to advance. Even if the Jazz found some way to advance they are not beating the Suns. DM sitting more in the Memphis series would have prolonged that series and DM has tweaked the ankle a few times in the Clippers and Memphis series. He needs a long period of rest in order for it to heel. It may never be the same. Ankles rarely fully recover after bad sprains.

If Mitchell had his say we would've swept Memphis and had plenty of rest before Round 2.

Oh and the game Conley got injured in never would have been played.

Why are some mad at Donovan for being willing to play injured
Isn't that what a pro is supposed to do
They get paid millions to play

Honestly, this is a complete repeat of Deron Williams when we went to the WCF against the Spurs. He had one leg and tried with everything he could give but was a shell of himself.

That is currently Donovan Mitchell in a nutshell. We're the better team and injuries to key players are grinding our season to a halt.

Donovan didn’t miss out on any rest. He didn’t play game 1, therefor he had rest there as well. He then had several days off before series 2 and it still got aggravated. If Donovan had his way he would have played several regular season games according to that ESPN article which would have been stupid as ****. And Mikes hamstring has been injured all year. It was coming regardless. Both injuries won’t be healing until the offseason and that was true against game 1 vs Memphis and now. The Jazz have literally played the least amount of playoff games of anyone, and Donovan and Rudy have played some of the least amount of minutes of any stars who have been ready to go. I don’t really want to hear that he didn’t get enough rest. The ankle just wasn’t ready for a playoff run. Period.

Mitchell had to play in Game 5 because we lost Game 1. That's sort of how the playoffs work, you see.

He had less rest between rounds.

I’m not mad at him for playing, I’m glad he gave it a go, but he’s not been open to letting the Jazz manage that injury properly and they don’t dare due to public backlash from him. What if the staff wanted him playing every other game? Less minutes? Etc. it’s fairly obvious he wasn’t real open to input because he wanted to give it a go as hard as possible and this is the result. It’s difficult but I’m sure the medical staff knew there was no way that ankle was holding up through a full playoff run. They were right, Don cannot move at this point. He took 19 shots last night, 14 of them were 3’s and he made 4 of them. In game 3 he didn’t look great either. It’s wearing out and with it, our playoff run is gone.

He didn’t, he literally would have played the same amount of games. If the argument between game 1 and 2 is that “what does a couple more days do?” Then don’t give me the argument that one more game he didn’t even play in round one is why he’s inured. He’s injured because that ankle was never going to sustain a playoff run unless heavily managed, which he wouldn’t allow. He has played 9 games in 22 days, with some minute restrictions in 3 of those games. THAT ANKLE WAS NEVER READY.

The Mike injury is just like Rubios a few years ago too. We kept expecting “next game, next game, next game” and he never returned.

oneye thinks that Mitchell having three extra days before playing his first playoff game after 6 weeks off is equivalent to having three extra days of rest between rounds.

lol.
