Yup. And interestingly enough, the standard that the deal will be judged against is the Gobert trade from today.
 
What we got for Royce was a masterstroke a 1st rounder from Brooklyn with KD leaving they could be utter **** next season so we need to be death riding them next season
 
Would you do something like:

Durant to the Suns

Spida, Ayton (S&T), and Bogdonovic to Brooklyn

Ben Simmons and Mikal Bridges to Utah

Draft picks a plenty from Phoenix to both Brooklyn and Utah but probably more to Utah for taking on Benny boy.

I think the salaries matchup but the trade machine won't allow it due to Ayton still being on his rookie contract.

It really is Spida for Mikal (Who is incredible) for the jazz. Simmons (when healthy) would make this a killer deal. In the meantime he is a tank commander.

My only guess would be - it's because he needs to be in the trade to make salaries work and the main value for the Jazz is not Ayton but other pieces. Otherwise it sounds weird.

But in that case- what are the pieces that make it worth it for the Jazz? PHX picks become kind of worthless with KD going there.... maybe if they are unprotected and far enough in the future... like the ones from the Gobert trade?
 
Yall need to take a deep breath. Mitchell to Brooklyn ain't happening in a 3 team trade with Phoenix. Reasons why:

- Suns not moving Bridges, Booker, CP
- Brooklyn would have to move BS & KD
- Ayton ain't worth Don. Not close.
- Don ain't worth BS & KD for Brooklyn
- Suns don't have the assets for Simmons AND KD much less Don too

If Simmons (BS) gets dealt in a separate deal before this trade could happen which gets the assets to send to us, then this massive deal is possible. But BS doesn't have that kind of pull in a trade right now.

The only team that I think has enough assets is the Knicks.

Yeah, I think there are better trades for him. I think it's time to trade him though. I think his value will be lower if we hold on to him longer.
