I’m not a fan of acquiring Ayton, but this does intrigue me a bit. Good way to add top talent as he doesn’t really move the needle as the possible #1 option on a bad team. Or use him to acquire other pieces. If we keep him, we end up with a top 5-10 pick in a strong draft, then the jazz still suck and keep their top ten pick in 2024. This team could be stacked with young talent in 2-3 years. If we trade Mitchell I like the Ayton idea much more. We’d still awful. And we just turn Ayton into a better asset. Someone needs to take all the shots.
No idea why Ayton would be into that idea though.
I would prefer Ayton and Mikael Bridges... but that can't happen.
Seems like both us and BKN would want a haul of picks to go along with a move like this. I don’t think PHX can satisfy those demands. If this is legit, this has got to be a monster deal with another team (possibly more) involved to make everything work.
What do you think the structure of a deal would look like?Yup. And interestingly enough, the standard that the deal will be judged against is the Gobert trade from today.
We wouldn’t be getting Nets pick. We would be getting the 76ers that the Nets ownWhat we got for Royce was a masterstroke a 1st rounder from Brooklyn with KD leaving they could be utter **** next season so we need to be death riding them next season
My only guess would be - it's because he needs to be in the trade to make salaries work and the main value for the Jazz is not Ayton but other pieces. Otherwise it sounds weird. Why would we take back Ayton if we’re not keeping Mitchell?
The only team that I think has enough assets is the Knicks.Yall need to take a deep breath. Mitchell to Brooklyn ain't happening in a 3 team trade with Phoenix. Reasons why:
- Suns not moving Bridges, Booker, CP
- Brooklyn would have to move BS & KD
- Ayton ain't worth Don. Not close.
- Don ain't worth BS & KD for Brooklyn
- Suns don't have the assets for Simmons AND KD much less Don too
If Simmons (BS) gets dealt in a separate deal before this trade could happen which gets the assets to send to us, then this massive deal is possible. But BS doesn't have that kind of pull in a trade right now.
