Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Suns, Lakers, Mavs, and Dicks are having some chats with Utah about Bogey.

Man, I'd love a Knicks lottery protected 1st for Bogey.

Unprotected would be asking for too much and Bogey might be enough to get them in a play-in game and if they get past that, that's mean we get the pick. (Right, if you are the 10th seed, but get into the playoffs, you dont draft in the lottery, correct?)

Doubt the Mavs are going to give us one of their rare 1st for a 34 year old on an expiring deal.

Lakers are a possibility.

Suns seem like our safe landing spot if nothing else goes through. Their pick is going to suck *** relative to other teams, but it's a pick.

Let the Mavs save their picks for Sexton. If I say it enough, it will be spoken into existence.

Lakers are not a possibility at all for Bogey unless it’s a Westbrook deal just FYI.

Bogey would be a perfect fit next to Luka. If I was the Mavs, I would really try to get a deal done.

I doubt they give up a 1st for Bogey. They need to save those for a move to get a second star next to Luka. After next years draft they can trade their 24/26/28/30 1sts.

IDK... seems like a combustible group to me... a CP injury... Ayton disinterest... unprotected picks are awesome even when they come from really good teams. I think we could also get some seconds either by flipping Crowder or from the Suns.

Maybe we get the pick in 24 to balance things out a bit pickwise. If Lakers are balking at taking final payment I'd do this type of deal.

Yeah, not seeing any of that happening.

Ayton got paid. Hes going to be fine. CP3 will have his minutes limited and they will still win a lot of games because they have a great team overall, especially if you are gifting them a Bogey.

Give him to the Knicks. Get their pick or get the 23 Dallas or 25 Milwaukee pick.

Thats the thing about the unexpected... you don't see it coming.

Like I can't see the Knicks and Jazz getting back together to connect on a Bogey trade... doesn't mean it can't happen.

I actually think the @Elizah Huge three way with Phoenix and Miami is pretty amazing and seems fair all the way around. Land a 2023 pick from the heat and a 2024 pick from Phoenix. Duncan's deal sucks... so does Shamet's... so does THT's and we ain't get **** for taking it in.

We ain't using cap space to improve the team for at least 2 years... its fine.

I could even see Duncan getting a little value back as soon as this year... and you might be able to throw him with an expiring deal at a team like the Hornets for Gordo (if he gets hurt again). The length of his contract is problematic but I think he's a guy a team could talk themselves into around the deadline if he plays well.

Just run Sexton with Duncan, Simone, Beasley, Lauri... score 150 and allow 170 while juicing up everyone's numbers (sarcasm)

For every 15 million of waste that you take on, you would expect a pick. So that is 3 to 5 picks for Duncan's contract depending how valuable you view him.
If he was a FA he would get at least 8M a year... maybe more. So there is roughly 30M in dead salary... They take Gay which is like 8M in dead money... so basically a pick

Pity. Tony Jones blocked me on Twitter. I've never even tweeted at him, just retweets and likes.

So I cancelled my sub to the Athletic. Ah well, support local news.

That’s not how that works lol. We’d have to pay Bogey this year regardless so we’re taking on 3 years of his salary basically. Last year is half guaranteed at 9.88M. It’s not that bad and he likely becomes a decent reclamation project.

You cancelled your subscription cuz you got butthurt?
Nah. I only maintained the subscription to read his content. Otherwise, I don't pay much attention to it. But if I can't see when a new article goes up, why should I care about it? Besides, I've been looking to cut misc. expenses anyway.
