Jazz draft Keyonte George at 16

In a weird way Keyonte is probably higher upside player than Hendricks. He will need work though. He settles too much for 3s and takes some ill-advised shots. His FG% is disgustingly low, but it's somewhat misleading because a ton of those are 3p shots. His TS% is .525 ... again... nothing to write home about, but not as terrible as you would assume when you see 37.6% FG%. He does some things well too - goes to the line and his FT% is high... he has on-ball skill and potential... lets see what Hardy can do with him and if he can focus his talent in a positive direction.

High upside pick. At least he can shoot off the dribble and has deep range. Risky pick since he relies on a diet of tough shots. Dribbles a lot but doesn’t always create a lot of separation. Not my first choice here but I think he’ll be a good player!

Murray averages 20 a game in college on 45/40 shooting.

Keyonte averages 15 a game on 37/33.

went safe with hendricks, went high ceiling, low floor with george. perfect pick, imo.

on another note, has anybody seen his measurements anywhere? Tony Jones says 6'8" span - wondering if that can be verified anywhere.

This is my feeling as well. Hendricks was an easy pick and George is more of a swing for the fences type pick.

If he can play better defense and turn his tough shots into good passes he will be a great pickup, but from what I've heard from the Baylor crowd it's gonna take a year or two.

I have a sneaking suspicion we will deeply regret not taking Cam with this pick.
It's hard to say. We will never see how Cam would develop here and most of these guys' chances of success and the players they turn into are shaped strongly by the situation they're drafted into.

If the character/mentality concerns are legit, I can see him struggling in Houston since that team is all youth and buckets, but no defense or wins.

What initially caught my eye is his combo of high 3Pr and FTr. IMO stars are stars because they can great offense from the most efficient places on the court. Obviously he’s missing the rim area and that’s a concern, but I like his ability to get off so many threes and still get the line.

I agree that he has the highest ceiling. The passing was hit and miss, but there’s a high end outcome where the shooting becomes very good and the rest falls in place. His off the dribble three might be the best in class
